thanks for all the ideas, the apples are very tart , some great suggestions
  • Apple crumble is my favourite thing to do with apples..... such a pig me.
  • Apple curd & apple & chilli jelly

Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.
  • We're making a huge batch of apple and blackberry gin, 3 days in and it smells fatastic!

In the past we've made apple butter which is just fab (like a thick smooth sauce) and various chutneys.

This year we've just frozen loads of stewed apple for those dark cold days when a dollop of stewed apple and custard will be much needed.

its very easy. I used less sugar than the recipe suggests and served with greek yoghurt. It keeps really well all week and is good for lunch boxes.

Hey Starjumper, did you just put apples and blackberries in your gin? How big did you slice your apples?

It's a recipe from the river cottage preserves book by Pam the jam. Apples are chopped up into reasonably chucky pieces, a chucky bite size maybe. Looks fab, can't wait to drop this baby and pour myself a large glass!
