What To Do With Apples?

I've got this problem at the moment (pears too). I like the muesli idea. I think this would work best if you grated the apple (skins and all). Grate them and soak with porridge oats and yogurt overnight. Think I'll do that before I go to bed;)0

You could always stew them and freeze them in portions, that way you'd have a quick pudding with yogurt etc, or you'd be able to make a quick crumble when you had any spare flour and butter.0

mix some flour, sugar and butter into a crumble, peel and slice your apples in a ovenable dish and pop the whole lot into an oven until crumble browns. I'm sure there are more specific recipes on the net somewhere.Feb GC £41.23/£90

Apple and Chilli jelly recipe anyone?
I bought an amazing apply and chilli jelly, a type of clear chutney at a local fayre and am now seriously addicted! HOwever at £3.50 for a small jar I'd prefer to make my own. Does anyone have a recipe?0 -

I use one very similar to this, except I put 1tsp of dried chilli flakes or a few dried chillies in while the apple is pulping, then substitute 2tsp of chilli flakes for the herbs.0 -
I have a lot of eating apples that arent that nice to eat - not particulaly sweet or ripe.
Any ideas how to use them up?

I'd just make a shed load of crumbles/tarts/puddings with the view that the crumble aspect provides the sweetness you need (bit like rhubarb IYSWIM).
Since they're not very sweet that's the limit of my ideas!!!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I peel, core & chop eating apples that aren't very nice & throw into a pan with some sugar and stew on a gentle heat until they're soft. You can freeze the puree in pudding sized portions to make an apple pie or crumble. My lot love stewed apples on their own with yoghurt for breakfast or custard for a pudding. HTH.0
