Hmmmm - I remember reading somewhere a recommendation that you shouldn't be the first or last to fit an alarm in your street. First and the tea leaves think you have something to nick; last - you're the easy target in the street if you haven't fitted one yet and everyone one else has one...0 -
For info these kits are still on sale in B&Q Northallerton, N Yorks - £50! off after work to make me a purchase!0

Hi all, I bought one of these alarms from b and q set it up on friday
Very easy to put up and is working fine in my house
Couple of questions for those that have this
1) Does your siren beep once for arming the alarm and twice for disarming it?
Ours does and was just thinking if there was anyway to stop it as it might annoy our neighbours
2) If I wanted to upgrade to the alarm that allowed part set function (home)
Would I need to buy a new system or could I just upgrade mine?
Sorry about all the questions, hope someone can help me
Thanks
Shaun
On the first point, you certainly can on the HS3800 system. You go to programme (# followed by PIN). I think you then go to Gen Settings or Siren Settings. In one of them there is the option to turn this function off.0 -
Thanks for that, will have a look around on the net to see if i can see anything
Kind of got used to it now though0 -
Has anyone managed to get a discount on their house insurance by fitting this kit? Is it a certain approved model or something? Like car alarms are thatcham approved, do house alarms have the equivalent?Mortgage Free Wannabe Light Bulb Moment (Early 2012, started May 2012)

http://www.quicksafe.co.uk/burglar-alarms.htm
It is £500 which is a heck of a lot of money! but I dont if it is as good as the price makes out. I cant find any other sites selling this alam. Anyone out there have any advice??

If these are wireless, what frequency do they work upon?
Just wondering whether having a wireless internet connection would interfere (used to have a tv sender which was dreadfully incompatible with my wireless router!)0 -
The Yale wireless use 433.92MHz frequency.0

I know this is an old thread but I have the yale hsa3800 and managed to mess up the pin number today so had to restart it all but when the alarm was set and you went out when you re-entered it used to beep until you turned it off now it doesn't do that , its just silent although the alarm is on and when you put your pin code in its says the alarm is off so I think its working ok but I miss those countdown beeps
how can I turn them back on ??0
