No matter what happens with keeper liability the bill makes no difference to the situation in a lot of residential areas.

Many posters come on here for advice about getting a "ticket" on their car when it was parked outside their flat, issued for a permit not being visible or similar. A permit scheme was brought in about two years where I live, but the lease of the flat makes no mention of permits being required (it allows entrance through non-existant gates). I would think that the vast majority of leases make no mention of permits being required to park.

A lease has a legal status whereas a set of rules dictated by a PPC, regardless of who contracted them, has none whatsoever. So a PPC will still be either wasting their time and money chasing payment, or receiving money by deception (as they are at the moment) from anyone that does pay.

My posts were sarcastic. There are so many obvious PPC trolls on here it's laughable....sticking their oar in and trying to frighten people about this bill even though it's miles off. If they get enough people frightened about this in advance it will work for them because more people will just pay.

There's three of them I can identify. Christ, they're even having arguments amongst themselves and telling us to ignore tickets to look convincing...but ignore when the big bad bill comes and unspeakable evils will happen.
Why would they be going to all this trouble they might ask? Because it's their livelihood at stake and it doesn't take much to register a few accounts and pretend to be someone else. Seeing as forums like this are the main source of information on PPCs and their practises it's the least I'd expect.

I know who to listen to and who to believe...and it's good that others are noticing them too...even if you're a bit out sometimes :-)

Sorreee! Misunderstood your sarcastic post which is strange cos I am a sarky cow myself! I accept you are clearly not a PPC person!

I take back what I said about you...but reierate my view about shabba19. Shabba19 is, IMHO, Peter Haswell, the chief tea-boy and litigation failure at UKCPS.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Lol look if theres anyway i can prove im not a troll please let me know, just because im highlighting what i thought was a cause for concern does not mean im some undercover agent kinda thing. Iv NEVER said o yes the bill will make you pay, i was just simply asking would it make you pay!

To be fair when i look back at the title of my original thread it does look like im stating the bill could cause damage which i apologise for, but how was i meant to know. iv only just heard about this bill 2 days ago on this forum while i was surfing which i thought was weird because if the bill was serious surely it would have been widely covered on the website.

Anyways please help me remove any misconceptions if i can, the only reason i brought this whole thing up is to 100% reassure myself that nothing can happen to me in the future because iv received tickets in the past while driving other peoples cars and i don't want them being pestered either. That being said i will be going with the forums view to just carry on ignoring, i just wanted to confirm this was the most agreed action

P.S anybody can feel free to delete the whole post about the bill if you think its causing a stir, because that was really really not the aim. I was just enquiring, i mean, if i cant ask you guys who can i ask? the parking company itself? pahahaha

    Spoken like a true troll.

Personally I think the answer IS to get people to know about it so that they can pester their local MP / Lord and get the bloody clause scrapped. I think it's ****ing pathetic giving these weasels the power to abuse the motorist.

Off topic, but I thought of something. With the Freedom Bill, Clamping will be banned. But what about towing?

Will the clampers move from clamping to get money to towing the vehicle away in order to get more money? (So instead of evil man in his van waiting in wait for people to mistaking park where they shouldn't before blocking in said car to place clamp, the evil man will be sat in his tow lorry waiting to tow the car away)

Only private though, council, dvla and bailiffs can still do so if I remember correctly.
