It was a small risk but it has worked out ok for me twice now as my dad wants one so had to get another one from ebay.

Great thanks for this, going to give it a go and see what happens, I could do with a nano instead of my big bulky classic! :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
got mine on friday when i came off holiday. was absolutely frilled. i was bought the blue ipod mini for my bday in 2005 and after a few months the battery wouldnt hold charge, took it to the shop and they said i could send it off to be fixed but they told me id be better of officially handing it over to them for an ipod nano if i still had the original packaging which for the fist tim ever i did, after alot of use it has sat in a draw with a cracked screen and scratch very badly which has been replaced with this program for a 6thgen. so 3 ipods for the price of 1 im buzzing with it :)
it might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:

give it a rundown then a full charge a rundown and then a 2nd full charge see if that fixes it, the battery life quoted at 24hrs so should be much better than the old one.

I am on my second full charge now so fingers crossed.

    Woohoooo :D

Just had an email saying my nano shipped yesterday - received/replacement date was 19th December. I logged into the Support section of my Apple account as someone suggested and checked under the Your Devices (I think) section and my 1st gen had been replaced with a pic of a 6th gen nano and serial number. Very happy indeed and also impressed with Apple's service on this.
  • Received a silver 8GB 6th gen nano yesterday. Had posted it back to Apple on 20th December.

Still waiting for my replacement Nano - Step 3 Return, November 21, 2011: Product replacement pending

So I rang Apple to find out what's going on - their reply is that because my iPod was bought in Australia, the replacement is organised by Apple Australia and should be delivered next week.

According to the Apple rep I spoke to every replacement Nano is now definitely the latest 6th generation in silver, 8GB, brand new (not refurb). :j

    Update:
My brand new 6th gen silver 8GB iPod Nano arrived this morning, one day after a phone call to Apple - the repair status page hasn't updated and still says "Product replacement pending".

ours turned up the other day. well impressed with apple, especially seeing as the ipod we sent in wouldn't even switch on and has been behind the fridge for 2 years

Totally agree with the last two posters. I've been playing with my replacement and I love it - great bit of service from Apple especially as my original nano had a hissy fit when I charged it before sending back and I was convinced they'd just laugh and tell me to get lost for sending in malfunctioning rubbish. Top marks to Apple for service from me - an 8gb Nano for a 4gb old nag. Can't argue with that!
