If you're not sure: if you have Webmail based access can you log in, check all the folders; do you see a load of old emails in there that you thought you'd deleted?

webmail is empty in all folders, i do this weekly
• Within Windows Mail, is the email address specified for the account - the sender - your official Plusnet one e.g. you@plus.com, or is it an externally hosted domain me@mycompany.com by any chance? (Don't put the actual addresses on this forum)

I have a you@plus.com and me@mycompany.com and the error happens with both as they both use the plusnet mail server
• Hmmm. I'm out of ideas now...

You're not the only one, though

oh i know that, but whats gets me is their attitude.

i am considering moving as i am out of my 12 month contract, but the only other available ones to me is

o2, plusnet,sky,talk talk

i notice in that link and several others ive seem theirs only 1 common denominator and thats Windows 7
• Why are those the only available ones?

All those you list except for Plusnet are LLU (potentially) e.g. their own backend networks.

Plusnet along with almost everyone else take/resell BT Wholesale services.

An ISP like Zen is BT Wholesale also (unless you're in the Rochdale area if I recall correctly) but is also both consumer and business friendly and don't care which package you have all that much.

With support, to an extent you get what you pay for. Plusnet actually do seem to do fairly well for a budget provider. Except on this one!

No they are not-the are the only LLU providers. Every non-LLU provider is available on every exchange, so they're not listed at all.
That is the reason that Plusnet are not listed-they aren't LLU.
You have the choice of dozens of other non-LLU ISP's.

Hi there,

I'm sorry for the way this has been dealt with so far, is there any chance you could post the ticket ID so I can have a look and hopefully get things moving (and also feed back on what's been done so far)?

Regarding the issue I suspect it's down to the new Cloudmark anti-spam solution we've rolled out. We're looking into these issues, and I'll point Bob (our resident email expert) towards this thread when he gets in this afternoon.

As I said though if you could post the ticket ID we'd be very grateful and will get investigating.
Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Plusnet. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

ticket 48732131

i emailed the CEO Jamie Ford last night and he said he was going to pas this onto James Bailey but the this morning i find yet another message
We are pleased to be able to inform you that a member of our Customer Support
Centre has now escalated your Question [number 48732131 ]
for further investigation.

The following comment was added to the Question
Dear Mr Robertson,
Thanks for getting back to us, from reading this ticket I'm assuming you are attempting to report spam to a organisation so they can inspect the headers and take the appropriate actions. So we can assist in this process can you please provide us the address you are sending the mail to, we can then perhaps look at whitelisting mail that's going out from our servers so examples of spam mail can be received at the intended recipients address.

Where possible could you also please provide the organisations web address.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Michael Wheeler
which is pointless as spam comes from different sources and not just a single email and as this is not just a problem with sending spam reports then this is again useless
