had a spend of £8 ish in sains last night. Just on lots of chocolate for my christmas baking tins and some mayo (800g jar for £1.69 i think, was cheaper than the 400g!) for our tuna mayo sandwiiches we will no doubt be having for dinner on our first 'normal' day after all the meals out.
Takes my total to £135.55 for the month so far. Just under £15 for the rest of the year. Not too shabby! so proud of myself!
Need to stop off and get greaseproof paper and eggs on my way home for work. Does lidl do greaseproof paper? I know they dont do some things that you wouldnt expect. Woudl rather not go into sains again as I would end up spending more than i want to!June GC £130.93/£150Wedding Date Set 13th October 2012 :T0 -
If we want to join in in January, can we put our amounts and things up now on this thread or wait for a new one?

I think Helen Jelly is taking a note of any January budgets posted on here, so just add it here, making it stand out so it is easier for Helen Jelly to pick up on and she will put it on the January GC for you when it is started:)

Afternoon folks
Well I'm well and truly 'bust' on this one.
Another £35.06 to add to my total which takes me £66.94 over the original £200 I set myself at the beginning of the month.
To be fair though, this does include the windowcleaner, a couple of prescriptions and the odd cuppa and cake out.
The big difference for me this month has been paying for more or less everything with cash. I've also noted down to the last penny, everything I've spent and seeing my cash dwindle as the month has gone on has registered more with me than just keeping a note of debit card spends, so this is something I am going to continue.
Its been an interesting and challenging month in many ways and as far as this challenge goes, my final figure for the month will be posted this time next week along with a shiny new 'target' for January.Jan 2012 GC: £98.05/£200.00
Dec 2011 GC: £285.14/£200.00

I've been on and tweaked a few things but its still over £200!
But the vouchers can be applied to that plus the xmas booze presents to be taken off so that makes it a bit more reasonable. I had a look at my local convenience store and whilst they have good offers, Mr T wins the day and better really to get it done in one hit than faff next week/over the xmas period buying more supplies at higher cost.
Do I tip the driver though? thats the question of the day? because this is my xmas shop and Mr T is who I usuually shop with but I feel it would be rude to give any less than £4 or £5 but on top of the £6 delivery charge, it seems a lot to pay out.... (bah humbug me!)
Yes-I'd tip the driver but as someone else suggested-a amall gift may be cheaper for you and maybe a card. These guys work hard in a short time schedule on low wages-look after them I say!;)Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

Well my month is up. Its officially 28th but I have done my shopping now for the end of the year and I will not be going to the shops again until 2nd. I have added my receipts up and have managed to spend a whopping £343.98 which is £43.98 over budget! Not very happy with myself but I do have a good supply of nappies, washing powde, juice and tinned goods for next month.0
