Had a NSD today
We had chicken pasta for tea today using the L/O chicken from yesterday.
Tomorrow will be something using some pork medallions that I liberated from the freezer.
I got the turkey out of the freezer today so that it is defrosted for Saturday (I always cook my turkey Christmas eve), it is an 8.6kg one and it is suprising just how much room it takes up in the freezer.
Not sure whether to get the fresh veg tomorrow from the village a few miles away (a shed outside a house, farmworker I think) or whether to fight the crowds in the supermarket Saturday. I would prefer the veg from the shed tomorrow, but not sure how well it will last.
Will need milk tomorrow and will check the date on the cream.

Thinking of getting another freezer, even though its only me, as i get some good whoopsies and need to stockpile as in 4 minths i wont have a job due to me attepting to open a business, would i be mad since i am single and living alone?
Mad? Not sure really. I used to be decisive but now I'm not so sure.:rotfl:
Buying whoopsies can become addictive and I find I buy even though I don't use them for months, so tying up cash in the freezer. On the other hand, as long as you use them, it can be a very effective way to save money when prices are spiralling. I know it irritates me when I see bargains but I can't shoehorn them into my freezer. My neighbour thinks I'm mad to have so much food stockpiled, she'd rather have the cash. Personally, I get the jitters when my stocks run low
I too live on my own and I think that if I had somewhere to put another freezer, and if I could get one on freecycle or relatively cheaply...I might be persuaded....:o
Ah well, I also declared bust last week, but am continuing to watch my food spends. Got my final wee shop before Xmas, and had vastly underestimated the price of "nice" coleslaw, buns and a "few" veges. I thought £5 would cover it...£24.72 (!) later...., and I didn't get anything not on my short shopping list, AND this included a visit first to Lidl to get as much as I could from there. Wowee!
Still, I have more than enough to feed my parents a full xmas lunch on Friday, the neighbours (buffet) Xmas Eve, myself on Xmas Day, and hopefully leftovers galore for the rest of next week.
VERY frugal January coming up, so will enjoy stuffing my face over the next few days :rotfl:
I hope you all have a fabulous plentiful Xmas. Enjoy, keep warm and safe, and I will no doubt see you all for Frugal January Grocery Challenge.

Well, another £23.08 to add for us. Thats us at £127.57. Only £22.43 left for the rest of the month! To be fair though we will be eating out alot. Might just struggle the last 3 days of the month but I am so proud of us for doing so well. This amount includes £33 on booze! That would normally have its own buget.
Only really got things to buy to take to peoples houses like stollen, crisps, chocolates ect and some mixers. Got the rest in. Im so excited, i think we might make it!!!June GC £130.93/£150Wedding Date Set 13th October 2012 :T0 -

Good morning all,
Yesterday I mentioned about gift vouchers meaning Xmas ones. If they are a present and used for groceries should they be excluded from my set December budget? I do not know whether I would be "cheating" upon myself so maybe not? Any thoughts?
Today should be a NSD so will continue to work upon using up what I have already.
Yes I have the same problem - although a very nice one .My Lovely Dad gave me a full Mr M's savings card (£100)as a present. I suppose all this time I whinge about my weekly Mr M's trip on a Friday ought to stop for a week or two at least.:o
What a fantastic present I was so chuffed - Love my Dad- brilliant present choice, never expected it this year at all.
Anyway as I see it is a gift so think I am not going to count it as normal GC but I may break it down into £20 for each of next 5 months(when I get next 80 stamps back ask for 4 cards)and bulk buy within the store each month for things like tins, loo rolls, coffee, tea etc then like a second purse system when I use an item from my store, put the real cost of the item money away (whether phyically or in stamps not sure) -or at least something like that - not sure as not worked it out properly for maybe next Xmas.
Or I just may spend it in one shop.................:odepends on how rest of week is looking and how I am feeling!

debbiedeejay - that's a helpful present from your Dad. Yes, I also see my vouchers as a gift just like if somebody had given me something edible for Christmas. I always make a note of vouchers received alongside considering monthly/yearly expenditure.
My trip to the shops is approaching so today I will be "plotting" how to keep in budget.0
