its illegal to drive along the pavement. you seem to have that confused with driving over the pavement onto a drive way.;)

    I'm not confused.

Neither is that link posted further down that proves you incorrect.;)

Don't apologise...you're entitled to an off day :p

Maybe the OP was being polite & was really trying to say her neighbour is a nut job.

so in your eyes clearly people with mental illnesses are nut jobs. nice. lets all call the physically disabled crips then! fine, right?

Which mental illness is made worse by having to wait for up to 10 minutes to pass a bus, or drive onto the pavement then? Or impacted on in any way by this? I assume as the neighbour goes to work and travels by car that an extra few minutes in her car every once in a while will not impact on her health unduly.

wow. in that case the ops child wont be made worse by having to be wheeled down the road then.

all this couldve been avoided if the op had mentioned it in passing and apologised for any inconvenience.

Wasn't me who said the OP's neighbour had a mental illness.

My opinion is that the OP's neighbour is simply damn rude.

If it was not for the age of the OP's neighbour, then I would have thought it was an ex of mine.
Besides, the bus is not supposed to sound the horn unduly.
Some people cannot tolerate nosie of many descriptions.
The bus is not supposed to block a lowered curb.
I agree with some others though a compromise especially from the bus company/helpers needs to be adopted.

OP has already said that this is the best place for the bus to stop as it only narrows the road for this neighbour. If it stopped further down the road in the cul de sac the neighbour still couldn't get past without driving on the pavement and nor could more of those living on the road. OP and this neighbour are the last houses but one at the nose of the cul de sac.

If you are suggesting the bus shouldn't enter the cul de sac at all because the road is narrow, then you are effectively saying that this child should not be entitled to transport to school designed to meet her needs, because some stroppy bint next door shouts her mouth off. You may think ghat a justifiable stance to take and you are not the only one on the thread but thankfully you are in the minority.

OP hasn't suggested the bus does either of those two things though.

i didnt say you said. the op said it, and you took that to mean that she was trying to say her neighbour was a nut job.

you really should be a specsavers.;)

I agree, its not an ideal situation for anyone, streets werent designed and built to take into account people lives and needs such as they are today.

Any person has the right to be treated respectfully though, OP if you haven't ever approached your neighbour about this in the past I think that was a mistake on your part. Whilst it cant be helped and you couldnt do much about it a bit of acknowledgement that you *may* on odd occasions cause an inconvenience to her probably would have stopped her blowing up about it !

Its not clear from the OP how many times it has happened that she has been blocked from gaining access to her home, and whilst it says the neighbour was abusive it doesnt say what she was saying - you're in my way again perhaps ?

I also think the fact that the child in question is disabled is a moot point, its the obstruction and her outburst that should be addressed.

Ok from the whole tone of your post you don't like this woman at all
no not at all....I've made a conscious effort to be friendly because of the way people referred to her when we moved in.

Scheming gypsy....sad to report no wild lesbian affair or cake (if only I had the time and energy:D), you seriously need to watch less Jeremy Kyle;)

Actually, I hadn't realised it was an issue until this morning- as Nicki says, although the bus may be there up to 10 mins, she drives up part way through and is only inconvenienced for 2 or 3 minutes.

I guess i was taken aback that she abused the chap rather than speaking to me about it being an issue. Useful to get all your feedback.....i've asked the driver to park a couple of houses up the road to make it easier for her.

it just makes me thankful i don't get stressed about the trivial things in life....
