Taking things from the house when you move?

I was talking to a friend about light bulbs and said I have some (low energy) lightbulbs that have lasted years, in fact since I moved in to the house. She asked how I could remember that clearly and I had to admit to needing to get all new lightbulbs in my current house as the vendors decided to take every light bulb with them when they left!!!

What things have you taken from a house when you moved? Or what things have you had to replace because the vendor has removed them?

The vendors had to fill in a fairly comprehensive questionnaire about what was included in the sale and what wasn't when I bought last year - I assumed at the time that the questionnaire was standard (my solicitor/conveyancer sorted it all out).

Mine was fairly straightforward as I bought from a couple who'd done up a repossession so there wasn't a lot in the place - but it did include curtains! There was an opportunity on the questionnaire to query anything you weren't sure about!

I can never understand why people are so petty as to take light bulbs etc....

My parents found they'd taken the toilet seat
and the washing line posts (and they'd been fixed in concrete)
Bear in mind this was the 70s houses were cheap but the stuff inside was relatively prcier before cheap Chinese imports - my ma was less than impressesed trying to dry days worth of terry nappies on a clothes horse, she still bears a lasting grudge.

Unfortunately our vendors left all their lovely decor for free, my other half was debt free delighted (they'll do) although after living with it I'd have paid them to take all their "vibrant" decor with them, vibrant yet floral  ...

I have to admit to being suprised although at the time just assumed I was being naive as it was the first house I had bought.

I am taken my plants/pots (dont have a garden) 2 trellis at front. At back leaving shed, 3 trellis on a wall that are for privacy/security.

Leaving light bulbs, carpet, curtain (accept kids room)

I put on a list that my buyers have what I am leaving.

I spent all all morning since 7am, boxing goods, cleaning, painting and getting rid of rubbish so my buyers have a nice clean house.

Havent finished yet got to clean windows, outside forcourt, car. Its all go.. Just having a break before going back to it.

Just 3 fulls days left and I am off.

To be fair it was one of the first things I changed the old one was some sort of cheap and POROUS pine and they had teenage sons - Mrs. B actually got some disposable paper seat covers of her mate before I got around to it. Which made me think why the hell does her mate have a ready supply of disposable toilet seat covers
