    Morning everyone

Cloudy, dark and damp and chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work at quite early o'clock. Dinner last night was quickies as DS1 went to rugby training. I have remembered to get the pork chops out of the freezer, so tonight we are having pork chops, mash, veg and gravy.

DH is going away tomorrow in the caravan, I will join him on Friday afternoon, boys are going to grandparents - really looking forward to getting away for the weekend, have been rather stressed with several different things going on in my life at the moment so hoping getting away will give me some respite. Only working today until lunch then have several jobs to do, and have an appointment at DS1's school for "target setting" at 3.10pm - need also to buy a few bits for DH to take with him tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Morning - thinking of cariad - diabetes control much more difficult with night shifts. They made me feel ill when I did them whilst young & healthy!
Nice to give home-made presents as well npm, lucky teachers!
One of my favourite jellies is rosemary because it gives a deeper amber colour, and for special presents you can give a pair or trio of rosemary, mint, tarragon, whatever. I see John Lewis are doing a very expensive box of chutneys, jellies etc. and good to think you can give something even nicer if you save your boxes & jars.
As for Molly - not only will your decorations last, so they become cheaper over time, they can also make nice pressies!
  • Morning all

Cold here too. At the moment am switching the heating on and off by hand, just find It's too hot otherwise. DDad had his hospital appointment about his eyes which have deteriorated over the past 3 weeks. He has the wet form of macular degeneration which they are going to treat, so that's good.

JackieG sorry to hear about your uncle.
    Taplady hope you're ok

Off to see Mum this morning, they want to go shopping rather than me doing the cleaning. They've got big bags of salt in Lidl for £2.99 so shall pick up some of those to take over. Work again to night. DS going to his Dad's. Tea is chicken and veg.

Have a good day all and big hugs to all who need one.

Morning all, well i've had a rubbish morning and its not even 8am yet! Both boys had a bad nights sleep so i was down here for an hour at midnight with DS2 then DS1 had us both up at 4.30am with a bad dream i think. To top that off me and DH had a barney before he went to work so we both feel crap now and can't make up properly til he gets home. All over something stupid that got taken out of context.

Supposed to be going to toddler group this morning but i don't think the boys will enjoy it after their bad night so we will stay home and play/paint instead. Got the shopping being delivered later so will clean the fridge out before that turns up, tea tonight will be whatever i can't fit in the freezer!

Hope everyone has a better day, hugs to you all x

  • Morning All,

Thank you so much for all the good wishes. I am very tired this morning, never slept much at all. I'll find out more today, what his prognosis is exactly etc. Poor man, and my lovely aunt, I feel really bad for her.

I am so sorry so many of us are having tough times just now, ain't life a sweary word sometimes?

OS for today, work then home to dry washing, do a mealplan, sort out some cuddlt toys to go to school for the teddy tombola, paint the hall ceiling, and sort out a Christmas list. Lidl are doing musical instruments tomorrow, DS1 has been learning on his dad's 30 year old guitar, so I am going to have a wee look and see if the one in the offer is any use for him. He hasnt asked for anything really, but I know he will really appreciate it. Oh, also got him Snow Patrol tickets, its an over 14's gig, but he will easily pass for that, and we will be with him, so he will be quite safe.

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Good Morning all, damp grey day here in north Kent.Youngest DDs day off today so she will do the school run with the boys then after I have had a leisurely breakfast I am off to pick her up and we are going birthday and Christmas shopping.I have amassed a grand total of £320 in my sistercas £1 -a-day fund since Ist January this year and it will more than cover the bits I have to buy. Thanks for the brilliant idea.I would have stacked it up a bit more but I am not good in crowded shops on my stick so a mid week trip with Dd is a better idea than tromping around the stores in December.Plus I then have time to wrap it all up and decorate the parcels.
I started knitting my DGS's girlfriend Chloe's blanket yesterday She is a 'betty boop fan so I am making her one with the logo in the middle and the suares in red white and black.I have twenty squares around 10" x10" to knit and by last night had done about 4/5ths of one .So I estimate it will take me probably about three weeks to finish it at the most. She will be so pleased as DGS Danny has one I made him when he was 10 in his beloved West Ham colours and when ever she sees it she says he is so lucky to have his own special blanket .She is a dear soul and adores my Danny, they have been together almost 6 years since 15 and I think they will make a lovely couple in time when they settle down. She got accepted into the Metropolitan Police and is doing her training at the moment and loving every minute of it.
This afternoon I have my echo at the hospital and DD is coming with me for company, bless her.
I hope you all have a good day and well done lou we are all rooting for you lass.<<hugs to the rest>> who are finding life a bit too much at the moment .Sometimes its not always about money and the feeling your not alone and someone cares is enough to make you feel a bit better
    Have a good day everyone
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Morning All,

Hugs to all thos in need, Redruby, hope dad is ok today.
Tappers I have just had a lightbulb moment after reading your post from yesterday. I am 44 but have lots of symptoms, strange mood swings hot flushes etc will go and be tested.
Molly I would love to join the WI but there isn't a group around here, if we ever move to the country I definitely will

Didn't sleep so well last night, I seem to be having trouble getting off to sleep and then I can't wake up.
At least I don't have to go anywhere today. Will have a quiet morning and then later I have lots of ebay parcels to post and lots more things to put on.
Mum and dad came for tea and I managed to use up the leftover pork from Sunday, made a pork and leek casserole in the middle of all the chaos that is the kitchen and they really enjoyed it:D
It was lovely to see them, we usually see each other once a fortnight but speak every day on the phone.
Will next see them at my uncles 70th a week on Friday.
We will try and get the kitchen ceiling painted this evening, I have to be DH's helper as I can't do ceilings with my vertigo.
Managed to order a couple more Christmas pressies last night. Almost all my Christmas shopping has been done on line this year, so much easier than trailing around the shops.
Tea tonight will be eggs of some description, maybe omelettes.
Anyway off for my weetabix, have a good day all J x

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
