Old Style Daily Thread for Wednesday 16th November 2011

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 16th November 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Good Morning :santa2:
Just been reading back and there seems so much sadness around at the moment. Thinking in particular of Jackie G, Lou, Taplady, Bramble and Uolypool x
Sorry not to have been around as much recently. I went on a WI crafting course last weekend and it was brilliant but no internet. I am very much thinking of becoming a WI member now as the women I met were absolutely lovely and very kind and supportive. I dont want to exclude any men who post/ lurk here but I was particularly taken by the following...
What is a Women’s Institute? A group of women banded together to help their country and themselves – Federation of Women’s Institutes.
Such a simple concept and one that seems apt to this thread as I think that is very much what we do here :T:T:T:
So hardly any OS but I have been making my own Christmas Decorations but if you count the cost of the material and course then they are very expensive decorations:eek::eek::eek:
Hugs for a good day OS friends xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

He is off out on the weekend and I have said I will put some money in his bank for thatnot a wicked stepmother... just a cash strapped one :rotfl:
So thats about it for here.....

BB, She was in the warm and I gave her strokes while she lay on a blanket in her box, it relaxed her enough to pass the egg. Also the other 2 wouldn`t leave her alone outside and she was getting stressed. whole coop is now cleaned out. ACV in their water all this week and have upped the poultry spice in their food.0

Hubby came home yesterday with fairy lights for the gazebo, why? I've no bloody idea, but if he want's fairy lights he can have them.

Tea tonight is lamb casserole, made with the leftovers from the sunday roast that we had on Monday, confused? So am I, I'm so knackered from work, I'm permanently confused.
Molly/BB, I was a member of the WI for years & it was brilliant, I gave up recently when my local one closed down & I can't drive at night to the next nearest

Morning All!
I didn't post yesterday, I wrote one and got a skype call... and well never posted it!!!!!
Monday night I was very sick (I made beef and veg pie with stock and no spices but the stock didn't agree with the heartburn...!) So I have been suffering heartburn ever since and I am on the blandest of diets! I have noticed I will be fine one second and next it feels like I ate to much... and that'll be Baby Roo pushing on my stomach!
I actually had a reasonable day yesterday (it was DH birthday and he really loved his Barbour Rain Collar I got him), I spent time skyping a friend in Norway, and look after a friends little boy... before sleeping the afternoon away and picking up DS from school. But I did help DS make DH a lovely chocolate brownie cake for his birthday, served hot with Icecream... the boys tell me it was very yummy
Today I have the morning school run, and this afternoon I am collecting DS from drum club, getting him dinner (leftovers) and then taking him to swimming club! It's a bit too much for me, but DH is out tonight again!
Oh and I forgot to add on monday... I gained 0.5lbs so I am yet again the same weight as I was at 10 weeks along...!
I hope everyone has a great day xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Morning All,
No word on Gdad at the moment, so i think he's much the same, he's made it past the 2 weeks the docs gave him, which is nice.
Just ate a bowl of porridge, am lovely and warm inside now! Hope it does my diet some good.
Lunch will be 1/2 a tin of soup (I know i should have made some, but i need to use these up first!)
Dinner - Burgers Mine shall be without a bun and easy on the chips.
Need to get some washing drying, and just general house work.
Think I am walking to work again, which is fine but i'm exhuasted! still, if i want to shift the pounds it's something i need to do!
Have a lovely day all
