Well, pay day at last, and I'm trying to be sensible with not only spending, but debt paying as I don't want to completely bankrupt myself before the next payday! :rotfl:

It's not feeling at all like Christmas for me this year, I think I got the christmassy feeling in November! Spent all day cleaning and tidying after going to shop after shop after shop with my mum and grandma getting everything for Christmas Day and Boxing Day as I have sisters coming one day but not the other and vice versa so two days worth of food needed. I am soooo tired and my dad has really been playing up tonight and to be honest, it's getting to the point where I wish he'd just leave as he's nasty/spiteful/vindictive and hurtful to all his family. Why does he have to spoil xmas just because he hasn't been visited by the 3 ghosts yet!!!???? Do you reckon he'd get the hint if I wrapped up his suitcase and put it under the tree!!! Wish I could go back to being 5 again when Christmas was magical and the family was happy... Never mind, I cannot help my parents, I just have to be there to support and in the meantime, pay off my debts so I can get a place of my own and leave them to it!

I promise to have a couple of drinks tomorrow evening and be more jolly!!! xxx

I know how hard it is to have family problems spoil special events... hope he cheers up out of his grump and you have a nice time regardless of what is going on! Slightly different but after I moved out of my mums, I never really spoke to her again and my life along with all the special occassions are much happier for it. Have a drink tomorrow and relax a little bit, you deserve it ust as much as anyone else x

    Hi mfou1098,

I must have been posting while you were typing your post, just wanted to say hello and hope you're OK and can enjoy Christmas as much as possible this year despite what's going on at home. Thanks so much for your work in keeping this challenge going!

Love this! Exactly how I feel! Just had someone drop their child off for one hour. 3 1/2hrs later they came back! Though to be fair stuck them in front of the games console and off I went getting some swagbucks! Don't mind admitting I have a problem now I have my goal cooking book to work towards! 3 days of food to go, last minute surprise. the arguments have started with family! Anyone mind if stick my head in the sand. On the plus side husband traded a load of scrape in and got more then expected so put an extra £50 my way so feeling more cheerful then my :( mood earlier

    Hello everyone,

Congratulations on the debt busting! Everyone is doing so well!

I'm finally making some more headway on the debt thanks to a good Christmas bonus (which in previous years would have disappeared on anything and everything, but this year has gone straight off the credit card and loans!), so I've just paid £3,359 off the debt which takes my total to a nice new round figure:

    003 £4,000/£12,459

Merry Christmas everyone - can't wait for 2012 - its the year we become DEBT FREE :j!

:T:T:T Wow, that's an incredible total!!! I can't wait for 2012 either, next Christmas is going to be the most amazing christmas EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks everyone xxx

To be honest, this has been going on for some time and he's already left once. He's got a "friend" that he sees, phones and texts daily and she's destroying him and his family. I just wish I could make him see that he's losing us all but it's like he doesn't care, he's just been on top form today and really worn me down, I can normally take it but he's been especially nasty tonight. If he doesn't get a visit by the 3 spirits then I might just have to hit him round the head with a bottle of Jack Daniels!!! :rotfl:

Haha, nope, but that's a very good idea! How much do you think I would get for a little finger? Could always do without that...

I have to confess my recent big payment is a bonus so not really anything new I've been doing, but I am squeezing the budgets to within an inch of their lives and have cut back on everything. Not sure how long it will last but I desperately want this debt gone!! How are you finding the debt busting?
