To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour, i.e.:
    £265.43/£7685.67
(where the first amount is the total you have paid off so far in this challenge and the second amount is the total you pledged to clear by Xmas 2012.
It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your number from the 2nd post.
i.e. another £50 paid off so now the total for

Can someone please inform my sister that we do not need a real christmas tree that will only last a year and is adding to global warming, and that an artificial one for £10 would suffice. She's not listening to me and it's doing my head in. I don't have £40 to spend on a tree and she is in a worse financial situation than I am arrrrgggghhhh

I was always a real tree person, but when I bought my flat I bought a tree for £20 in Homebase (1/3 off) and I am so pleased with it. This is the 3rd year it has been out and it still looks lovely - no mess and very frugal!

I'll edit my sig so it shows amount paid instead of amount left, to help with your table...

    Welcome :j

    Thanks for the welcome!

I have been living a lie for too long now, I'll buy this and pay it off at the end of the month style of living! Got me to £13k debt so I am now facing it head on and I am going to win!

The job comes with about a 25% pay rise and car so that frees up MOT and Service every year.

What I plan to do is set up a sweep facility so every 1st month after all my bills have been paid anything above £0 gets swept into my savings account then onto my cards!

    Sound like a plan?

Lets hope we all do this and reach our individual goals! Together we are stronger!
