    I noticed we had similar figures - we should try and keep pace with each other! :p

    I'll edit my sig so it shows amount paid instead of amount left, to help with your table...

    Let the race begin! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

    My flatmates have decided we need a Christmas Night Out, so I'm going to have to try and direct it somewhere cheap, as they both earn a lot more than me (tho complain they're underpaid:mad:) and seem to spend money without thinking about it.

    Recently, I had a mini Christmas do with a few friends and we went to one of those Carvery pubs. It was only £3.89 I think for the meal then we just had a few drinks, fairly cheap meal out. Dunno if that appeals to you or your friends. We sat and chatted for hours :)

    Think this is going to be funny but we'll probably both end up limping over the finish line together :A

  • Long time follower of this thread, had a really tough year and ended up with some extra debt so over the next year I intend to clear it then start on building up my savings again!!!

    Can I join please?

    Thanks for all your tips, had an overdraft of £1,250 and another cc bill but thanks to Barclaycard paying back nearly £450 that is all cleared - just a shame EGG only paid back £11!!!!

    Good luck everyone. :beer:
  • Please can I join... I could pay all my debt off by April if I used my sharesave but we want to buy a house so i would rather continue paying debt and saving, etc - would look better I think with a mortgage lender that we could affort to repay debt and save?

    SO - saying that I want to join this challenge - please add me...
    Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

    You're £50 ahead of me!

    At the end of this, we're all going to be so tight! I'd suggest some kind of celebration, but nobody would buy the first round :rotfl:

    Normally best to pay off the debt as the interest you get charged is higher than the interest you gain from savings.:money:

    Could you pay off debts then save and have that as your target for xmas? I've got that I have to save the same amount I pay off by next year eep.

    Welcome aboard anyhoo :)

    I agree but the share price is not at the level I would consider selling at. For me the debts are more than manageable and the biggest one (half) has a penalty for early repayment so I will watch the stock market and if it picks up to the level I want then most definately I will sell and sort out half the debt... Watch this space!
