Sometimes Ebay makes my day :-) DSR's removed!

You could message the 2 buyers that it might have been and say you are following up on the transcation, as you do with everything you sell, just to ask how things went and were they happy with the service they received. That way it looks more like a general thing you do with everyone rather than targetting them.eBay did advise me to contact the buyer to ask if they would remove feedback so I can't see a problem with that but I wouldn't like to message and get the wrong one so will just have to leave it.0 -
The dsr system is useless, and is *not fair* to sellers.0

I really don't see the point in it especially since buyers can be dishonest when rating and sellers can't do a thing about it.
What is the purpose? It seems to me like they are restricting accounts so sellers start to offer free p&p on most or all of their listings so eBay gain more from it. The accounts they want to be restricting are those that are charging £3.99 to send a parcel that costs £1.33, not sellers like myself that charge the actual postage or 5 - 20p over.
I don't understand how this seller's P&P rating hasn't dropped down below 4.6% http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/imnotjustacook/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3692A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

Had the positive feedback and associated low DSR removed :rotfl:
Ebay CS misinformed me a few times now claiming DSRs and associated positive feedback cannot be removed - the above example at least proves the contrary - what's the best way to go about that?
I'm currently not selling any items through this account and I'm not willing to do so unless they remove these silly DSRs.
Further I was quite shocked as the CS-manager I talked to claimed (but he didn't have any prove for that in the T&C), that Ebay retains personal information after account closure forever? - That can't be true, sounds to me like a violation of the law e.g. data-protection act etc..
Can anyone point me in the direction of the relevant T&Cs and law, please?0 -
From what I know Ebay keeps most account records indefinitely and most transaction records for two years.
I have had feedback and DSR's removed twice while on the phone to CS in the last 18 months.
The 3rd time I complained the CS I spoke to said it was not possible for him to do anything, but he passed my complaint on to trust and safety and a few weeks later the feedback and DSR were removed.
I have had good reason to contact CS each time and luckily they saw my side - I only ever deal with the Ireland CS though - never got anywhere with the India? based one...0 -

Maybe in the 9 months since this thread was last active ebay have made changes.
I got a standard email recently explaining that DSRs had been removed from my account as they were not in accordance to others I had been left- lots of us got that message at the last evaluation.
As for not using your account, that's fine, it is not compulsory to use ebay- but I don't imagine for one moment that they really care when so many others are opening accounts on a daily basis.

I've now gone about 14 months without a low star

I don't have a problem with it now - i just think the allowance are set too low. A couple of nasty scumbags and it can affect your account. 2% is very low - although now i actually know about the seller dashboard - i'm doing ok.
I would love to see Ebay themselves allow us to mark them.0 -

Thanks very much! - Unfortunately I didn't take it up with CS immediately after receiving slightly lower DSRs (it is ridiculous anyway - based on 5 lower ratings in one of the categories).. as I had been unaware of the repercussions of DSRs alltogether as it has never affected me before...till I got one of these lovely automated messages...
Having read all the advice on here and other forums I asked CS to be put through to the Trust & Safety team immediately and that's when all the confusion started - as suddenly CSreps & managers started claiming they are also acting on behalf of the Trust & Safety team, however they couldn't do anything about the ratings... it was mentioned though that they could forward the complaint to a higher level T&S-team, which apparently can't be contacted via phone directly.
2 things:
May I ask how you argued your case to get the DSRs removed and whats the best number to call to get directly to Ireland? So far all my calls were usually routed to Manila..0 -

I just had someone leave me a 1* for P&P for charging actual postage + 5p. Yes, 5p.
For something wrapped in bubble wrap, then put inside a new mailing bag (with a return label and address label). :wall: They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
