That way you can't really point out which transaction it was left for if you receive more than 1 feedback in 48 hours.

I think you should be able to see which transaction it was left for to give us sellers a chance to rectify the problem if we receive a low rating as it could also be a buyer being malicious.

Running reports often narrows it down to enable us sellers to identify which buyer left the poor stars.

Ebay are actually very strict about it and warn sellers that under no circumstances should they try and determine which buyer has left particular stars!

It's worth a try so have emailed ebay as I got 1 star on dispatch from a buyer who I had to file a NPB to get paid and it spoiled my straight 5 stars.

When I had mine removed, I actually didn't know which one it related to (I get over 500 feedbacks a month and I wasn't going to try and start trawling through that lot!). I phoned ebay and explained that I had received no negs or neutrals so the buyer concerned either made a mistake or was being malicious. They wouldn't tell me which buyer it was but removed the feedback and low stars anyway.

I think you have been lucky to have your low stars removed simply because you have not received a negative or neutral. As you know, buyers are free to leave low stars when leaving positive feedback to reflect their buying experience.

It is wrong that buyers can trash your stars by being malicious and not being honest about their buying experience. With the ratings being annonymous you can not point out who left it, you can narrow it down to a few transactions but can not actually point out which transation it was left for so how can you rectify the problem and know it was a mistake or a buyer being malicious.

Actually you can narrow it down to a particular transaction.
My DSR's have taken up to a week to update, and the last 3 low stars all left by one buyer appeared on different days.

I don't understand how you can narrow it down to one transaction if you say the DSR's have taken a week to update and the low stars by the same buyer were left on different days?

My argument with ebay was that 3 x 1 star ratings (and it would have been all 4 if it hadn't been for the free postage) are quite clearly not positive. Also, at the point I received them, I scanned back over a weeks or so feedback and not one single comment could even be slightly construed as being slightly negative. My account is also in very good standing - I have literally only had a handful of other low stars over a long period of time and my lowest DSR rating is currently 4.95 - to suddenly get 3 x 1 stars, with no obvious corresponding comment was quite obviously way out of the ordinary and ebay appeared to have taken this into account. Sometimes ebay are reasonable!

There is a slightly laborious way of doing it, it's all down to running reports by item numbers.

I have just spoke to CS on Live Chat regarding the 3 low P&P ratings I received which I believe to be malicious. Most of the time I charge the actual cost of the stamp and sometimes I round the figure up (ie: small packet £1.33 and I have charge £1.50) but it is never more than 17p overcharge which is reasonable in my opinion since I use new packaging and not recycled.

This is the reply I got:

It can be quite frustrating to get low DSR scores when you feel it's undeserved. Your appeal has been taken into consideration and after investigating it again, the Feedback does not fall under any of the criteria for removal, therefore we cannot remove ithe DSR scores unless your buyer will contact us directly and request their Feedback to be removed completely.

Please be aware that the Feedback Forum is a place where buyers can share their experiences freely and openly.

If eBay got directly involved, then our opinion would replace that of buyers. We will intervene to remove Feedback in very limited circumstances and you can read our policy on this through the link I've earlier provided.

We'll only be able to remove the DSR scores once the complete Feedback has been removed.

I'd recommend that you talk to your buyer and ask them to contact us directly for the removal of their complete Feedback so we can remove the DSr scores too.

And then goes on to say

For privacy policy, we don't provide the information from which buyer left you the DSR scoree.

So how can I speak to my buyer if they can not provide information of the buyer that left the low DSR score. Very unhelpful.

Ebay do seem to be removing stars where they do not fit the pattern of what is usual for that seller and where a range of poor stars has been left with nothing 'negative' in an otherwise positive feedback.

So an overall poorish seller who maybe adds a bit to all his p and p charges and gets the occasional 1 or 2 * would not have the stars removed as it fits the general pattern.
