 !!!!!!? Most I've ever paid is about £120, and that was on an imported Subaru Legacy with the quad cam serpentine belt.
Oh wait, I didn't get it done at a main dealer.0 -
Anyone mentioned 1.3 diesel Vauxhall/Fiat engines? Latest Mazda diesels do to - and there's a recall out for problems with them, though service history is a must to get it covered - oil lubrication is important for chains, so no skimping on service!0

Would you buy a cycle that used a rubber belt to drive the wheels ?

My last three cars (all Fords) had chains, not had any issues in the 8 years I owned them and the ~180k miles covered.
Previously I owned a Vauxhall Corsa, belt snapped on 36k miles causing £900 worth of engine damage. Car had been serviced religiously at main dealers. That engine was a Suzuki effort I seem to remember, the 1.0 hairdryer version.:A0 -

You can buy a motorbike that does. Harley Davidson have had them for years.

Harley Davidson shouldn't be in the same sentence as "motorcycle" - under powered, slow, ugly, rubbish!0
