    *introduces George to Rosa*
"George, please meet the lovely Rosa, Rosa likes gardening and looking fabulous, but hates listing items on fleabay and has a soft spot for 50's clothing. Rosa, meet George, George likes pretending to be other people and when he's not doing that he's getting arrested"

Be careful with your George's - there's another George than answers to that description...

As far as I'm concerned - there's never been an attractive man.

    Apart from me of course...

It's a bit like good music, it's all 25yrs older than me anything newer is a bit rubbish and samey.

It depends what you're into. There's always been dire music, and always been good music, though the mid to late 80s (just before grunge came out) was a bit of a drought period. ( the S.A.W. (s)hit factory  )

Agree about the music though - well charts anyway, there is always good stuff out there but it gets harder to find.

Much of the good stuff never hits the charts alas.

Ok I've been naughty and ordered pizza with cheesy garlic bread and chicken strippers plus a bottle of coke. I'm feeling sorry for myself today and can't face cooking, so as I have been good all weekend decided I deserved to have a treat. I need to find cheaper treats :p I will remember to pay myself £20 less next week as pocket money,

Is that how much it cost?!

If I'd spent that much on pizza round here it would be a Mr. Creosote moment...

I am slightly disturbed at the concept of chicken strippers  - (and surprised that one got past Z :rotfl:) do they peel off their own batter or something? Or their feathers? :D

It didn't - it was just too easy a target... ;)

Or perhaps they shy away from going the full monty. Alternatively it's something to do with chicken fillets...

Yes, maybe chicken strippers are too scared to take anything off... don't think the silicone fillets would go well with pizza though

  • Kerri, it's so annoying that you live in the big smoke! I'd be happy to do things :) I feel a bit the same at the moment, I've moved further away from my work friends, and live a minimum of 2 hours away from my older friends. I know I'm not going to see my work friends as much, it's already started happening while I've been off work. Even if I say no or can't afford whatever they are doing, it's nice to be asked yet they don't seem to really ask me any more.

As you say, this will pass and priorities will change over time.

Thanks for sending me the link for card holder!

Newroadahead - I'd love some banana and custard right now, it's my favourite pudding. That or banana pie and custard mm mm mmmm

Well I've just sat in the shower crying :( I'm feeling really depressed and incredibly lonely but don't know what to do about it which is making me feel worse. I'm sure I'll feel better when I get out the house tomorrow, just feels horrid that the only people I've spoken to this weekend have been my parents, my sister, and my OH. Then couldn't remember the last time I'd spoken to anyone I know in London, even people that live two minutes down the road and I've invited for coffee when they're free don't seem to bother. Oh well, I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow.

Unfortunately because I've not been eating properly the pizza/chicken/bread upset my stomach, so I gave up halfway through. However, that means I have pizza for lunch tomorrow :)

I'm ignoring all your comments about stripping chickens Z and Rosa. Pure filth is what your minds are made of and I won't encourage it :p

Pyschopathbabble - I can't remember where you live, but I drive to Ipswich once a fortnight normally on a Thursday and on the alternate week to Sevenoaks on a Wednesday. So if you're near either of those and fancy a coffee sometime then just shout :)

Ok, I'm allowing myself to be miserable until the morning...then the bouncy, bubbly full of fun Kerri will be back!!! I've come up with an ingenius idea of how to meet people, I shall go to the local craft fair this month to see how much stock I need to make. Then in May I shall have my own stall there, this means between now and then I need to:

    a) stop moping!
    b) make lots of lovely things, such as cardholders (I might try to finish a few of those tomorrow), baby diaper covers, lace knickers!!! (already have the fabric), cushion covers, baby quilts, produce bags
    c) design myself a website to sell my products on
    d) start crocheting properly instead of this rubbish I keep doing which isn't working!

  • Just seconding what Pinot says! Although it's hard sometimes. As you said, give yourself this evening to be upset then get back up again. We all need a wallow every now and then, I find it gets to me even more now I'm not working at the moment, so am home all day, then see Mr S in the evenings and my friends are either busy working or busy not inviting me out!

hope you feel better tomorrow x

Ok, Ive just finished reading !

Kerri I think your last post echoes what / how many of us feel. I'm not sure its just a London thing to be honest, although I know it doesnt make it any better. I'm probably going to be of no help to you here, but I am convinced that as soon as we spiral into debt, however big or small / money troubles etc ,that we ( maybe subconciously) isolate ourselves a little from other people. I think once that LBM hits or maybe even before we are so determined to get things sorted that lots of other things go by the wayside, friendships, social lifes etc. Some of it is obviously because we cant afford to keep up with everyone else and spend spend spend. that therefore then isolates us , not intentonally, but it does have an impact. Or, we are so focused ( as you clearly are on building a debt free lovely new life for yourself and OH) that friendships fall by the wayside. Mr Pinot was away Mon to Fri last week and I didnt speak to another adult, until he returned home on Friday evening. I was working, but it was all done via email. Obviously I have the children, but a bit of adult conversation wouldnt have gone amiss. It is very very isolating and I am sure that many of people reading with empathise with your last post. You arent alone in feeling this. You are in a doubly difficult situation with OH away at the moment. How long now until he is back ?

I cant offer much help I know, and am no doubt rambling again, but we are here, you have so many great followers on your diary and I know its not the same as human interaction , but we have interest in your well being and will help if we can.

If I had Jude Laws number in my littleblack book, I would send him round to you right now, but I'm afraid I cant help on that front !! :rotfl:

Thanks Pinot and Psycho :) It's Tuesday, so I picked myself up and have sewn 15 fabric cardholders and am currently turning them rightside round ready to top-stitch them tomorrow.

I definitely think you are right though Mrs P, I'm so absorbed by the fact I'm in debt and don't want to spend money on things that don't mean anything that I have isolated myself, but in doing so I've also had a reflect on who I associate with and what kind of friendships they really are. I want friends that have similar interests to me and don't think I'm of a lower class because I want to make my own clothes, or stockpile food to save money. My sister does seem to be my best friend right now, and I really did disappoint her by not going down this weekend (I did need the time to myself to stop myself getting ill though and that's worked). I'm really looking forward to going to my parents this coming weekend, I will take a portable changing mat down to my sister that I need to remake as it ended up inside out and back to front (oops!) and service my own car :D

Oh and please don't send Jude round, I don't like lying, cheating men, and I'd much prefer Robert least then we could get crazy drunk, laugh lots, and joke about all the times he's spent in that place all the celebs go to when they need to sober up. I reckon a night in with Robert would be totally amusing!
