I'm actually doing some work today for a change, I have some training to do tomorrow on a perl script I wrote, and loathe! So need to write a mahoosive document to teach the developers how it works and how they should use it. Will write it in simple form so they can understand it, they don't actually understand how an oracle database works :|

I've also paid another £4.51 towards freemans which is money from fleabay :) I have still got 9 items awaiting payment and I know at least one is going to have to go to fleabay as I think they tried to cancel on me although they won the bid, not sure how to deal with that one. The knicker buyer hasn't got back to me today, so I'm guessing he's decided he's too creepy to have a pair of my pants ;) Phew! That really was weird. Beans on toast again for lunch today, and trying desperately to hold out the extra 15mins before 2pm as I prefer to go at 2 so my afternoon is a lot shorter.

I've also decided I would like to move to Berkshire in 2 years time, although can't decide where. This should be plausible if I can keep the new job and do well with it, as I won't have to pay my travel fare (berks is £400/month to london) as it can be expensed, and most of the work will be from home (saves work money). House prices are about £250k-£275k for a reasonable 2-bed, and we'd definitely want one that can be done up. I spoke to the OH about it last night and he agreed that he doesn't want to live in London forever, although he did say he wants to come live in London for a year or so when he qualifies. Deposit we'll be looking at around £60k, so when the debt is cleared that's the next target, although I still want to have laser eye surgery (saves money in the long run). However, I get halos when I drive at night so not sure whether it really is best for me.

Can't think what else I need to splurge about today, ooh it's a NSD :D yay second one this calendar month I do believe.

Hi kerri - have not laughed so much in days ..... sorry have neglected the diary (Im on the naughty step)

I had the same issue a few years ago with a dress would you believe!!!! it was a slinky party dress and the highest bidder at the time asked if I would wear it and then send it unwashed!!!!! - well it freaked me so much I cancelled the auction!!!! - but in recent months I have heard a lot about selling undies for money on ebay and have had a few laughs from reading peoples listings for them ie one young man said they were his ex-girlfriends and she had left them behind after a weekend away etc etc ................... I am very broad minded but must be too sheltered in recent years as I had not heard of this until recently

As for joining WI - you go girl - I knit and make things and a lot of friends think Im "daft" - Im a home bird and cant get enough of programmes like Kirstie Alsop etc - actually WI and making things is becoming extremely trendy and was most pleased to Alicia Duval (famous girl who has had loads of plastic done) sitting in the park knitting!

Keep up the good work you are doing really well - must go back and read properly your posts about spending etc but thought would have a quick comment about the funny bits!!! xx

Well no, life is never dull in my little old world, January was all "is she going to pop yet" accompanied by "eeew you want my knickers", with a mix of "ooohhhh noooo the OH really is going to go to Canada for 4 months" and a hint of "hurray new job yippeeee", along with other funnies. I have to say though, my life is a lot more dull these days, which probably is for the best as if this is dull now woah you should have known me when it was less dull!!! I dare say you wouldn't have been able to cope with all the laughter :p

Anyway, debt busting... urm... none done today. I have spent £3 on two tubs of organic yoghurt so I could have museli for brekkie (I hate it with milk it goes all watery bleurgh!) I couldn't for the life of me remember where it was on offer, turns out the one I have isn't on offer anywhere well not for the £2 I thought it was on offer at as that's for the flavours I don't want. But two tubs for £1.50 each is fine by me when they're normally £1.86. I will transfer money to my 2nd purse immediately as I also need to pay for a tin of beans for lunch.

I didn't go to the PO this morning, naughty me, as I had to host a meeting at 10am... apparently I can't get into the office before 9.30am anymore well I am leaving next week! I will package up the 5 items I have left to post tonight. I have 5 items that still need to be paid for and have put in a dispute for 1 item that's not been paid for in over a week, how rude! I've relisted all the items that didn't sell, will keep doing this until they're gone. They get 2 weeks at 99p, 1 week at 50p, then 1 week at 1p, anything after that and it's CS or I'll put multiple items together if baby clothes. Really need to edit some more photos this evening so I can list 20 more items. I might schedule these so I can list them at the weekend just in case it's free listing.

I'm currently also watching my fabric conditioner on the rainforest as it's down to being almost half price. I paid just over £9 for 5 litres and this is about £15 for 20litres currently. I need to investigate this subscribe and save thing, as if I can put it through on that then cancel the subscribe and save I could save lots of pennies!

    Right best look busy.

Right, have just learnt after quite a few rainforest purchases that I could subscribe and save to save some pennies, then cancel when it's been dispatched. How annoying! I shall be doing this from now on.

Update: Gahhhh I have to go to Brum for my first week with the new job. I am soooooo pleased that I set aside £200 just in case I needed to go fleeting round the country. I've got a horrid feeling it's going to be everyday which will be, according to goggle £20 each way, so £200 for the week. It's only about a 2hr journey by car though which isn't too bad, I have checked the train but by the time I've gone into central and back out again it's going to cost just as much and take longer. Also, I can't sing cheesy 80's songs on a train at the top of my lungs like I can in my car. I might, however, give the car a wash when I'm in Bournemouth.

Oooh look at me forward planning my finances to cover things like travelling to places afar, 6 months ago I'd have been sh*ting myself thinking "flip flip I need to find money for travel flip flip" :D

    Thanks Z :)

Well this evening I have had free dominos :) and made £68 and kept my underwear on.

People have been going on about the free money from bingo sites, and the use of cashback to do so. Soooo I went through TCB and managed to make £80 through slots/scratchcards. The bingo was shoddy as the odds of winning were so rubbish, so I didn't like them. Although I did win £41.41 there.

To celebrate I ordered Dominos, of which I've only eaten the sides but mmm cold pizza for breakfast and lunch will be nice. So a total profit of £6* + pizza. This doesn't include the cashback as you can't guarantee this will track, but that will be another £30-£40 if it does :D

Disclaimer: I never ever gamble, mostly because I can't trust myself to stop when I'm up. This was only done because I knew I could make some free money :) When they send me some more free bonus offers I'll do it again, but for now I'm quite satisfied.

When the money comes in I'm going to throw it at freemans which will leave me with just under £70 left to pay them, yippee. Although not counting this until the money is in my pocket.

Don't choose the mid-point between two locations when you only go to one of them infrequently. If you want to do it like that, then you need to weight them differently to 50/50.

I've gone over the 34% mark now, which means I'm over 1/3 of the way to being debt free. I called lloyds this morning as they have charged me interest this month but that is because the interest is before the payment plan came into place, the woman on the phone didn't tell me about this. They've reassured me that the account will just reduce by £12 a month now, so as long as I keep paying in the £12 they'll be happy.

Had another few fleabay payments come in, so that's reduced freemans to below £170 now which I'm really pleased about. I shall get on with some listings tonight as I won't have anymore money coming in from there otherwise, the stuff I have relisted is stuff that either hasn't sold the first time, or is on for a second or even third time. I have lots of photos of stuff that need to be edited, so will edit 10 then schedule them then do the next 10. I think working in 10's will be manageable. I am determined to flog all of the stuff though, even if it has to go in job lots.
Have had confirmation that j@ckpotj0y are paying me the £13.55 (I was £3.55 up with them) that I withdrew last night, so that's nice of them. M3cc@ has tracked on tcb but it's showing as £0.00 grr.

I think the way I'm going to work it with my washing powder & fab conditioner is I will put 20p into my 2nd purse for every wash. I know that it's costing me less than that, but I can't quite work out how many washes I'll get from the 10kg detergent or the 5lt fab conditioner, so 20p a go will do for now until I've got it recorded. Seeing how I do 1 wash a week on average, it's going to take me about 2 years to use all the washing powder hehe and there's me wanting to buy the 20lt fab conditioner which will no doubt last me 5yrs. Does fab conditioner have an expiry date?

Eep my numbers don't add up on my spreadsheet, I think I need to do a new one to account for everything properly. I have stuff that goes out of hsbc which is meant to be paid using my 2nd purse, but that's in negative so I'm a bit confused how to log it. I shall have to have a big long think about how this will work. I also have stuff that's paid using cash, so how do I log that? Grrr

    Afternoon update:
Well I've done that thing I do of buying things for other people again, but it was for a worthy cause and not too expensive. I've ordered 8 x 400g of really nice steak mince to be split 50/50 between my parents and my sisters family. It only cost me £22 and I did win quite a bit on the bingo yesterday so I feel this is justifiable. It would have all gone to my Dad, as I did say I wouldn't give my sister anything until she'd paid me back, but he didn't have enough room to store it. I'll also feel happier knowing that they're not eating cheap meat and are eating healthier. I think sometimes we forget about the value of an item and instead just look at the price. But then we know I love my organic produce ;)

Nope. Just keep it out of sunlight.

Yes, but now your sister won't believe you when you say things. When dealing with people like that, you need to make everything you say come true - even if it is an inconvenience to yourself.

If you can't make it come true, then don't say it.

This prevents confusion in their minds.
