Spend, spend, spend, spend, spend.... this always happens when it's payday grrr, total splurge! Although this time I'm buying shelves for my stockpile stuff, it's been long overdue and they were £19.89 on fleabay instead of £40 on argoose
I need to get back to the physically taking money out situation before I fall off the wagon. I will set Sundays as my "out of the bank into my purse" day, as that ties in well with my weekly spend challenge I'm doing.
The kinder has already arrived, as have my contact lenses so I'm very pleased, just hope the shelves arrive as quickly. Vanquis have emailed me my bill for this month with 0 interestAmAzing! So just waiting for freemans which looking back over my emails will come tomorrow about 11am.
I have a list of items I want to find to buy in bulk this weekend. Olive oil, sea salt, herbs, caster sugar, icing sugar, plain flour... I already know where to get the olive oil from, just need to make sure they sell it.
You know how you go on FB every now and then idley??? I've just wandered onto the page of a girl that was my best friend just over a year ago, and she's still having all the drama and chaos around her that she was back when we were friends. Upon reflection I've had pretty much 0 drama and life has become quite settled and calmI've also grown loads as a person and I'm a lot less angry now. Funny how she said it was me that was the problem not her... her loss I guess. I like moments like this whereby you can see what a massive change something has on your life.

I really need to get a hang of this budgeting malarcky. I have spent £55 from my purse budget of £80 oops! £10 on pizza hut with my sister, mum and nephew. I've also spent £33 of my £80 grocery budget. Although £11.25 of that was on 156 dishwasher tablets for my parents.
I have sold more items on fleabay though and for every paypal transaction I've transferred it straight to my b/a and then paid that amount off freemans. It might mean lots of £3 payments, but they soon add up. I've also paid wescott their monthly dues, and an extra £200 to freemans so even if I don't pay anyone anything else I've paid the minimums on my accounts for this month (more than the minimum for freemans).
I've decided that now I'm budgeting hardcore, I will try to keep the extra £200 on my vanquis and see how much I can pay off through fleabay between now and the 20th when the last of freemans needs to be paid off. This will mean I have a £200 buffer in case I have to travel to Reading everyday for my new job between 13th - payday. It will also mean that if fleabay pays out enough, then I have £200 less to pay on vanquis next month and so will have £200 towards my hsbc overdraft (next on the hit list). I'm loathe to make any unnecessary spends and need to adjust my budgets to suit the remainder of my funds. Which puts my weekly pocket money at £10 and my grocery also at £12... this could be doable given the amount of food I have in cupboards and freezer.
I do think I need to find a hobby that involves meeting other like-minded people though. OH and I were discussing earlier that I don't have many interactions with people (personally I like keeping myself to myself), I'm very much on the outside of the group of friends I have and it's not likely I'll ever be in with the clique. So I need to think up some way of meeting new people and doing some fun things that are within my budget and not drink related. I think one of the main issues is I live in the coldhearted city of London where unless you know people it's hard to meet people. There's also been two occasions now where someone we've invited over for dinner has made a not so subtle crack at me right in front of my OH and it's made me really uncomfortable... needless to say they're not coming round for dinner again. So any ideas for how to make friends would be appreciated
So...
Two days in from payday what have I spent?
£90 - wescott
£263.54 - freemans
£12 - lloyds
£51.27 - pocket money
£10 - second purse
£158.75 - pots (minus £110 for contact lenses)
£25 - savings
£811 - rent
£34.34 - car insurance
£31.88 - mobile phone
£26.07 - vet insurance
£30.01 - petrol
£33.47 - groceriesDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Aw thank you lovely
I have no idea where Bedfordshire is oops, will goggle now
Concerts? You have a newborn, surely they should know cuddles are your top priority over concerts
My sisters had friends start to reappear, she knows they'll disappear when the baby isn't the latest news again though. I'm watching Call the midwife atm, funniest bit was her reaction to the glass rectal doodar. Hope little one is letting you get some sleep *hugs* xx

Its not too far away id say 30-40 mins by car.. i know what its like tho living central, I went to a London uni..:) funny how i might walk past you in wales or cardiff lol
I know, my friends have missed me not going out. One friend is buying a load of new clothes..im feeling the pressure that shes gunna expect me to go clubbing and drinking soon, to be honest im much more of a theatre person now, or good movie and meal. Im getting old hehe..
Yes shes being a very good girlie! :-) x0 -
Finally remembered to goggle Bedford, it's just above where my train goes to each day on the way home
If you walk past me then feel free to say hello
Things to report today....
Well it's my first NSD of the payday month, as long as I don't buy anything on my journey home...
I've paid another £3.47 to freemans taking me under the £200 mark left to pay.
Mum has potted up my fruit garden plants for me but I can't plant them until next week, so they'll stay in her garden until then.
I've loaded software onto Mums computer as she's been asking for it for months oops.
Watched Becoming Jane with Mum, love Jane Austen and that lovely bloke that plays Tomvery easy on the eyes.
I've completely failed my weekly spend challenge for this week, even though I set myself a higher targetI'm going to go climbing on thursday with the guy that sorts my car out for me, will mean he can check my brake discs and then advise me on a price for replacing the usb bit which broke on friday grrrr.... should really charge my sat nav but I keep forgetting.
Debt wise, well everything has been paid min. payments so I just need to overpay now. I need to sort out my 2nd purse, I've been paying stuff using my 1st purse which is naughty. So I think what I need to do is get a few wallets like someone else on the challenge has, and pay using cash. If I buy anything online then I'll have to pay that back into my bank account to make up for it. I've also used some of the creme eggs so need to pay my 2nd purse back for those.
This weeks tasks are to sort out some more stuff for fleabay and to tidy up my room...again. Although this will be more sorted when my shelves for my "shop" arrive.
I've also researched joining the local WI, I think this will let me meet new people that share my interests in crafts and cooking. The next local meeting is when I'm down in Bmth next though, so will have to wait until March. Haven't told the OH about this yet, I fear he may laugh at meDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Hey Kerri
I've found since being on a dmp that my friends have dropped like fliesI had one really good friend left and just lately she has been too busy to see me...found out she had joined the gym and didn't want to tell me as i might feel pressured into going too -now i doubt that very much as i'm not really a gym bunny anyway lol! And i felt quite upset that she'd got all cliquey with the 'gym bunch' oh well. I quite like my own company. Probably too much. And i'm one of those people who can go months if need be and not talk to anyone
(i know prob not good for me haha)
I lived in London before moving here with hubby and also went to uni there and I still only had a handful of friends. I had grown out of clubbing & pubbing and so didn't really have anyone that shared my hobbies- charity shops & cinemas & dvd nights in lol!:rotfl:I think I also would be better off looking for the local WI!:)MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I don't go the pub anymore, I'm a horrible drunk and as for clubbing, well I'm asleep before midnight!
I fear I may turn into an old woman, but the WI would share my interests allotment, knitting, crochet, cooking, sewing etc...Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

kerri~Can you explain something to me.
I take it that you use Vanquis to pay off Freemans and then pay Vanquis off to improve your credit rating?
