Rosa if you're ever in North London and fancy a climb feel free to ask
When I'm debt free I might start seriously climbing again as a sport, I'm only a 5+ though never got to a 6 as my shoes hurt my feet too much grr.
I'm absolutely knackered tonight so only a brief update from me...
Oh the face on my manager was priceless when I effectively gave him the two fingered salute by resigning to go and work for the company we sell products for. I'm pretty convinced he thinks I'm completely useless all because I make mistakes when I'm learning. Ever since I made a mistake back in July I've not gone near the systems I'm meant to be working on but been cast aside. My skills haven't been developing and I've been left to go stale. Best resignation ever.
I emailed my colleagues I used to work with at my old company to let them know I'm coming back and they got a bit muddled with January/February but I soon corrected them that I wouldn't be able to join them for lunch this week unfortunately. It's really funny as it feels like a massive cloud has been lifted from above me and I feel really happy and optimistic again, something that hasn't happened for awhile. I was dreading telling my manager as I didn't know how he'd react, he swears more than a building site when he's sat doing his work. I don't think anyone expected my resignation.
My housemate announced she's engaged this afternoon, quite exciting although I thought she was joking to start with. I didn't realise she'd known her new boyfriend for years, rather than the one month he's been in and out of her bedroomAfterall the only reason I moved in here is because her ex moved out. They're now starting to look for a house together that they can do up. She's said I don't have to move out as he's got his own place that he stays at and they won't be looking to move for ages. I'm wondering if it all goes well for them, whether I can take on the flat myself as that'd be pretty awesome. Then I can get a cat
This is very optimistic thinking, but it is a very nice flat and I really like the area. It'd be really good for my OH and I to have as he can then setup his music stuff in the room that is my bedroom and have our bedroom where hers is. Of course this might not happen and it's a long way in the future if it does happen, but it's nice to dream. Oooh then I'd have an entire basement full of bulk buy items too amazing!
Anyway I digress... I only spent £2.10 on a lasagne today and I am never going to Mr T Express again, they're more expensive than an Extra. The pasta bake I had for lunch yesterday was £1.75 in the Extra, a whole £0.43 cheaper completely outrageous and doesn't even make sense. You can't price check Express either how annoying. Lesson learnt for next time though.
OH is going to come to visit me next weekend, so I need to find some cheap bus tickets. Going to look on Megabus. I've offered to pay for this, I don't know why I haven't learnt that he can pay for his bus fare yet, but it seemed a bit unfair me asking him to visit then letting him pay for the trip. Although I pay my petrol when I visit him, hmph. He did pay half my petrol for Christmas though, he's not as bad as my sister and he does keep offering to lend me money if I need it. I've managed to find a bus for less than £15 return so that'll do nicely
No payments today and I have £2.31 spending money remaining in my purse. I'm quite impressed with this as I've had £20 in my purse for almost two weeks now. So it really shows that I don't have to go out buying chocolate all the time.
Just checked Vanquis and not really enough there to pay anything extra off elsewhere. However, have checked HSBC and I have spare cash there. So I've done some wonders for my OCD (not!) and paid £15.23 towards Freemans. I had budgeted £50 for petrol down to Bmth and back, but I don't think I'll need that much as I still have half a tank remaining. If I get really short I can always pull it out of the pots account, but I'd rather go without chocolate than do this.
My sister said something that made me laugh today, she said "even with the money you're on at the moment you still don't have any money, are you going to be able to cope on a slightly lower salary?" I had to remind her that the reason why I have no money is because I'm throwing it all at my debts so I am debt free and paying no interest quicker. I don't think she quite understood that I can't afford to do things that are luxurious as she knows I earn twice as much as her. She didn't see anything wrong with spending £2.49 on Pringles today, she bought them whilst on the phone to me this morning. I told her they were £1 before Christmas and that I'd never pay £2.49 for them. She seemed to think the 2 for £4 was a bargain. Oh dear.
Ok it's really bugging me that I'm so close to 25% but haven't got there yet. My sister will pay me £50 on the 20th so I'm going to pay another £12.27 to Freemans and that's me at the 1/4 paid mark yay *claps hands*Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Did a frog today, went to Lloyds and changed my address, I always forget to do this. Declined the debit card as I only want to be paying money into this account, not removing it from it. The woman behind the counter seemed impressed that I was paying off my overdraft
My hips are killing from rock climbing and I'm finding it hard to walk, so I'm dosed up with ibruprofen
I have one frog left to do today which is complete my personal information form and post my signed contract back to new job
NSD today (hopefully) as have brought in a tub of last nights curry & quinoa mmm. Veg box arrives today, it's a favourites box this time.
I need to investigate this free bingo money malarchy, it's through cashback site although I don't want to lose money. I will investigate this evening along with matched betting I think. Not one for gambling though, but free money....Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

<--- deleted rant -->
Second day curry is sooo yummy as lunch mmmm. I have avoided the farmers market that normally takes £4.50 of my money. I can't decide which veg box to get next week as they either have chard or sprouts in, so I might just go to the supermarket instead, or try to make enough from what I have to last until then. Will batch cook some pasta sauce and then just have that until payday from next week I think. Cheap, cheerful, easy my favourite words.
Manager has admitted he was shocked to hear I was leaving (like I couldn't tell from the look on his face when I told him). I've got to do loads of documentation between now and leaving date grrr.
When I get paid I'm going to try being really strict and sticking to my £20 a week grocery spend, £20 a week purse money. Any remaining grocery will go to a debt, any remaining purse will go into sealed pots for the Christmas food shop spend. Which if I'm spending less than £10 a week may as well be a Christmas food shop + summer holiday fund. I will succeed at being wise with my money and not blowing it all the time, honest.
Just noticed that CK have dropped the prices of their fabric even lower. I know I shouldn't but I've ordered 2m of two different fabrics. At £6/m each it's a steal. I'll make some bags from the material and flog it on fleabay/etsy/folksy to make back the cash. I'm also tempted to make up a load of products and do a craft fair in March... we'll see on that one.
Update: the website is broken and so I called, they've sold out of all their sale fabrics boooo money saved thoughDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

K have you read the Kath Kelly book "How I lived for a year on a pound a day" (amusingly I just checked the snappy title on amazon and some joker wants £200 for a copy :rotfl:) but I found it in the library and really enjoyed it. A lot of it is obvious stuff but her journey is really interesting! Just thought I would recommend
Good luck with the new job  I have just started one and loving it so far!DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Thanks Kerri, will shout if I'm in London! Will also get you to help motivate me if I try out the local wall over the summer. Would be a good spot for fit men

Thanks spagbol I'll see if I can find it on pdf anywhere
I think I saw about her on the news at one point.
Rosa if it helps tone the bum & thighs I'm all for it, although my hips are killing from Tuesday eep.
I can't contain my excitement about this next paragraph I'm about to write, I've a big smile with my achievements this evening. Afterall if you don't ask you don't get. I got home at 6.30 and put away my veg box, then I called my mechanic to book in a service end of Feb which is all booked in and he says I probably won't need loads doing to it anyway yay. We're going to go climbing next week, that's how I met him orginally as we both did the climbing course together. We're very competitive with each other, if I do a hard climb (5+ is hard by the way as I'm still learning) then he can't come down until he's done it too. Anyway I digress, the best bit of this evening. After reading on the debt free by xmas thread that someone got £190 knocked off instantly from their debt by calling the CA I decided to call Wescott. I've already decided I can afford about £600 a month to pay towards debts. They offered to take my debt from £1760 down to £1400 lump sum. I checked that the remaining amount wouldn't be chased for and they said I would never have to pay anything after that. I then asked if it was possible to pay over 3 months, she checked with her supervisor and they agreed BONUS! So I now have to pay £466.66 over the next 3 months starting on 1st Feb fantabydoozy. That'll clear Wescott at the beginning of April
As I was on a high I decided to call the dreaded lloyds tsb, they're charging me £5 a month fee for using an OD and then interest on top of that. I gave the woman on the phone my incomings and outgoings that I've now got a nice budget for and she jotted it all into the computer and came back saying I have £90 disposable income after all that and to make them an offer. I offered £30 a month and she turned round and offered me £12 a month interest free for 6 months. WINNER!
So if I work it out correctly using the fabulous snowball...it means that by July I'll be debt free *happy dance* It's going to cost me about £40 in interest, which given that I was paying that monthly I think is superb. It also takes into account everything I've budgeted for so I'm happy that I can survive yippeeeeDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Wow, loads to catch up on. So much for being knackered and not posting much:rotfl:
You must feel on top of the world after all you have achieved in the last day or so, well done you:beer:
How lovely to shave all that interest off. I can't wait for this Halifax card to come through so I can move over 4k interst free for 22 months. According to the snowball calc I will only need 9 months, hopefully less if more of it is on 0%:T
One thing tho....don't tell your sister:rotfl::rotfl:Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end
