    Hello everyone

(Side note: if anyone knows any NZ farmers who would be willing to have a very enthusiastic agricultural student on their farm for 3 months, please let me know!).

    Have you considered WWOOFING?

Think it's world wide so I'm sure you'd find something in NZ.

I'd love to do it but uninterested family in tow so it'll have to wait...

  • It's great to see so many Frugalisters on here, both old and new. :) We're almost at the end of the first week of January, and hope everyone is still excited about the money they're going to save.

Don't feel downhearted if things don't work out as well as they did on paper. :( As long as we all save something, no matter how little, we're all on the right track.

Just had left over sausages on sandwiches for lunch, so am doing well. This afternoon will deliver my AVON orders so get a few pennies from that, had a bit of a low order last time cos it was over Christmas so earnings will only be only about £15, but better than nothing...

Cos my budget is so low I'm using wages/WTC/CTC/CB for my official budget and using additional income for other expenses, this includes entertainment, gifts, household items, etc, etc.
I'm also keeping my work expenses (mileage allowance, etc) separate so I can keep an eye on how much this actually covers my car costs. I probably wouldn't have a car if I didn't need it for work (I can walk to my workplace and esaily into town, which I often do for shopping because parking is a nightmare, and I have to pay for it:p)so want to see how much it's costing me to keep it. We recently had our mileage allowance reduced and I'm not convinced the payments cover the costs...Am I becoming obsessed?

hope everyone is well. im finding it hard to keep up with all the msgs on here this yr, its going so quick lol.
just got back from my 1st big shop for a while, spent just under £25, didnt seem like i had much, but when you add 3xmilk @£1, toilet rolls @£2, coffee @£2.49 and thats without the smaller bits n pieces i needed.
im making a note in my diary this yr of nsd and spends on daily basis, so i can keep track of where all my money has been going.
forgot to add last wk that i paid out £106.94 in bills and £155 today in bills, but at least i have nothing else to pay out until 2 weeks time.

    god i hate paying bills

  • I had a spending day yesterday, but not too bad just a birthday card for DS3, cat food and 2 blocks baking margarine - total spend £8.06.

I paid for the car park and £16.90 worth of sewing thread through my business account and DS3 bought me lunch so a productive visit to town for very little money. :D

Got to head to Tesco today, I'm hoping for more tonight, when the town is closed and I can't be sidetracked.
Going for 4 litres goats milk @ £1.48 a litre.
Some fruit, a little Veg, a loaf, and 3/4 calendars, 2 for my godkids to add to their Christmas present, one for me, a family one so all sons activities and mine, if not then one for son and one for me.
Oh and if I can, some Christmas decorations and crackers.

This is my first spend in 2012 and I intend on sticking to the list as much as possible.

Oh, Mr F came home today... yipee!!!

Made lettuce soup for lunch to use up old lettuce, it was vile!!! But I ate it today, rest went in bin. Oh well at least I'm trying to reduce the amount I throw away.

Did groceries today and got all lunchbox bits for month and meat so should be a few cheaper weeks now. Still feeling enthusiastic.

Have had a couple of nsd's this week. I did have to buy milk yesterday and benefited from some whoopsied cranberrys at c00p 30p a bag which are now in the freezer. I am thinking some sort of berry liquer but we will see.

Lidl shop today only £13 just needed odds and ends so was quite pleased with that. £2.99 in B&M. 2 boxes of battery operated Christmas lights and a scart lead

DH and I went out for chinese for lunch, this was budgeted for and well deserved. The last time we went out for a meal alone was about 10 months ago, and they say romance is dead:rotfl:
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly
