    Hello everyone

I am going to join again for another year, lovely to see new faces on the thread.

Have not done my new budget yet tbh as I can't find any of last years bank statements  I have obviously filed them in a safe place, never to be seen again. I am another one with near-hoarding tendencies, and it has got to the point now where I am losing important stuff, buying duplicates etc. Need to sort that out! :money:

Not sure yet what I am going to include in my budget - I am on my work placement at the end of March, hopefully going to New Zealand at some point , so could be an interesting year money wise! (Side note: if anyone knows any NZ farmers who would be willing to have a very enthusiastic agricultural student on their farm for 3 months, please let me know!). I am currently just tracking my spending and trying to be as frugal as possible.

Went to Mr M game sale yesterday and there was nothing left! Oh well, saved me spending money I don't really have. I go back to uni on Monday but currently have an ear infection which is unbelievably painful.

I have not made any NY resolutions but my 'aims to achieve' for the year are to try out 1 new recipe a week (I have hundredss of recipe books, mags etc but never actually use them) and to read 10 fiction books over the year (on top of my uni reading - I am a slow reader) :)

Cherryjack - my old workplace had a standard 2 week suspension period before interview, but I expect that differs between every employer - surprised they have not told your OH how long it will be? Hope everything goes alright and try not to worry about it too much xx
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment
  • Hey up Frugaldom - please add me too - :) I'll endeavour to keep up this time here and elsewhere!

    Happy 2012 to you all.x

Morning fellow frugalers!! Hope all is well. More horrendous wind last night, didnt get much sleep :( Now heavy snow here...not lying yet though. Got a workout planned for later so hopefully i stick to it and manage some half decent weights, been about 3 weeks since last workout!! Up early and away for a run tomorrow morning then doing sit ups when home...no matter what the weather.

Yesterday was my second NSD of the year!! Fantastic plus i even earned a little bit of money aswel...will update when it hits my account. Went and did the supermarket shop with gf and her mother yesterday....couldnt believe how quick it all adds up!! Definatly need to watch what im doing once i move out as im sure i could easy spend upwards of £100 a week on food and drinks etc!! Dont know how you guys can manage £75 a month each?!
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Back to work tomorrow for what I expect to be one very long 12hr day!

    Decided that-

I WILL NOT go to the coffee shop and spend £1 on a latte - so went to Al*i and bought a pack of 10 mocha sachets for less than £1.50. I intend to take 2 to work each day. So a little bit of money saving there.

I WILL NOT spend £2.22 on a tuna sarni again - so, have made up a packed lunch list, stuff I can take to work and it not end up been the same every day. I do like a bit of variety!

Also bought a treat size bag of chocs, again to take to work. I tend to get to 4pm and realize that I still have 5 hrs to go, a that point I need a 'treat'. Snack machine minimum spend is 60p, got a bag of 20 'treats' for £1.

I hope that this may also help knock off some of this weight I've put on over xmas!

Also get a blender (even a cheap one) and a some cheap mayo...grate up veggies and beans and blend with the mayo...amazing 101 sandwich fillers at your doorstep :j...even tuna mayo is easy to make...just a cheap tin of tuna and mayo and like sweetcorn...All these keep in the fridge for upto 3 days..:D

Sorry you're so tired quin...I am too...though the medics say there's reasons for that. However it feels like my horrid depression. Just no energy. Could really do with some energy :A

Anyhow have just caught up....Didn't properly emerge till gone 10 and went to bed about 10pm last night. Must be the yucky weather :(

Think I'm going to switch off no. 2 storage heater soon as I don't need it. Lounge regularly about 22c....so really don't need it
