Sandra, sorry for butting in but do you have to fill in a self assessment for income tax as you get two pensions? It seems I had too and did not know and got fined £100. I have appealed it so just waiting but in the meantime I got my new tax code for next year. It has me baffled.

In actual fact, I get four pensions! Three private ones and the State Pension, but the 3 private ones are only about £3K a year in total, and I paid Reduced Rate Married Women's stamp for yonks, so don't get a full State Pension.

When I first got the State Pension, 5 years ago, I had several very long and tedious phone calls with the IR, when I explained to them how to allocate my Free Pay! But I never had to complete a Self Assessment form?

What a cheek you've been fined! Glad you've appealed, and good luck.

    xx

lola lovely to hear from you and your safe and well. I know you struggle to get things sorted so going to the tip is great and I think they have to sort it for recycling etc so don't give yourself a hard time ;)

At the mo trying to find code for the ferry to Isle of White as we off there next month and dont want to pay full price.

Welshpoppy - If you cant find a code for the IoW ferry have a look at the Red Funnel website. Although the journey is longer down Southampton Water they are usually much cheaper than Wightlink. They are also much more generous with passengers in the vehicle & the vehicle lengths.

Sandra - Wow - as the King said - What a Night!! I always loved his early stuff - never so keen on the later films but boy was he a beautiful man with a stunning voice range.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

As the backing singers and the musicians must be in their late 70s to early 80s, I don't think they'll be doing many more concerts, so perhaps they'll issue one on DVD - or perhaps they already have?

According to DS, who lives in California, and is a life long Elvis fan, these tours have been every other year in the USA, and the alternate year in Europe.

Your adjective "beautiful" was so accurate :smileyhea he looked soooo gorgeous on the screen. :) Especially when he sort of lowered his eyelids, at the same time looking sideways, and gave that gorgeous little half smile. :A Mmmmmm ....... now having a hot flush, thinking about him ............!!!!:o

The dump is 10 mins drive away, I had to do 2 trips, by the time I went back for the second trip, they had half my stuff in their cars, either to keep or sell lol
I really wanted to get the rest of living room kitchen done, but I have zero energy.

Just got a fone call from work, asking me to go in at 12-6 as we are going to close at 6, due to the Rangers v Celtic game, n either way, their will be trouble after it. Oh the joys of living in the west coast of Scotland.

Good luck! I got my parents over to help, they bin everything, stuff that I wouldn't bin, but have no place to put them. It also causes a lot of arguments, so it was with extreme reluctance that I asked them.

  • Do any of you buy plants from Thompson & Morgan? I had an email from them, asking me to complete a questionnaire on-line. And I'd get a £10 voucher!

I thought there'd be dozens of questions, but there were only 4 or 5 - and by return I received my code. So today I bought a mini greenhouse, £29.99, already reduced to £16.99, but with my voucher it was £6.99!!!!

So if you get an email from them, don't delete it!!!!

A bit late to the party, but I just want to say PIC that I am completely in love with Womble, I had a little teary moment as I thought how close he came to leaving the planet.
Yesterday would have been the 'official' birthday of my lovely OE sheepdog Holly that I owned many years ago. I chose March 20th for her birthday as that is St Cuthbert's Day and Cuthbert was once a shepherd.
