Don't do mother's day and mine is moaning her socks off right now about stupid stuff and being the general depressive she is - which I don't need. :(...

So yeah...these allotments are relatively new so I just went with a friend and like got one - just a tiny one mind...

Am hoping I can get a new e-cig free - if not I'll have to spend about £20 on a spare....waiting on emails patiently...

and it's wet and cold here and I daren't have the heating on :p

I over spent again today! Went to the new Aldi and spent £74.32, alas £42.88 of that was the shopping for my children, said loosely as they are not 23 and 19. But they live in a flat, and neither of them had any money left for food.! DS has lost his Giro cheque of all things!. So my shopping came in at £31.44 which is actually very close to the new budget I had wanted to set. However I have also an Approved Foods order to come, and that came in just over £50 cannot remember exactly. That has gone out of my account via the Paypal.
I also ordered some fabric that was in a sale, which will come in a few days, and that came to £22.:o
I also spent £9.00 in the local charity shop. I needed some RED fabrics, for some bunting, and I didnt seem to have any in my stash that I could get hold of, and some Pink.
Bought a pink duvet cover, £4.
Towels for mopping up, 3 for£3.
    Dress -brandnew @50p
    Blouse @50p
    Red jumper @ 50p
    Checked blouse @50p
So bit of a large spend, and a mess up on the budget. However I will get £8.99 for the pink Bunting, and £10.49 for the Red bunting.
Plus I will have all the remains of the fabrics, and I may be able to repurpose the dress to me! as its a size 12 summer dress which I would love. But it will depend what it looks like on, as I dont want to look like mutton dressed as lamb!:rotfl:
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Thanks but probably wouldn't be strong enough and fortunately I have a spare one :j...

Anyhow phoned them up and promptly sent it back for repairs/replacement. Also put my monies in for allotment but got my fingers scratched taking the flammable toxic tiles off the bathroom wall (think I scratched them on the wallpaper stripper :() so covered in plasters right now....

Quite low yesterday but made bread in the kenwood chef (it's still rising - must put it in the oven in a sec :rotfl:) and that went fine. So yeah...Have GP on Friday so will have to bake something yummy for her as never baked for her :(...poor lassie (baked for her hubbie and everyone else nearly enough though).

Alas no giro so far at this ungodly time but then sometimes it doesn't go in till about 3am. The fact is I have about 32p to my name so like need it :( (Apart from overdraft)...

So yeah - got a shower yesterday (replacement) for £36 from charity shop so hope it's okay. Have plumber coming this am. It'll cost but he's been recommended and I need it. I will just get a quote I think and arrange when I have more monies :T See what I think the the chappie and get the bathroom tidied...

Got my fork and spade yesterday from Mr. A for £18 or something so here's for allotment and ebay this Saturday. Don't think I'll have my key by then but DV C should have his so that'll be good. Then go back to C's and get him started on his e-cig :j and then do ebay...

Really do love my kenwood chef :). Have the juicer and the slicer and use them loads and they fit in the cupboard. No bother to clean. Just need to sell stuff on ebay. In fact might put some stuff on tomorrow on 10 day listings which will save a job on Saturday :T

Am I too late to join in ?
I don't want to do all the things on the list at the start, but I do want to further develop new frugal living skills, and also hone the ones I already use/have.
It is partly needs but also partly wanting to use even less than we do, in environmental and money terms so that we can build a security blanket (in terms of adding little bits here and there to savings and also in survival on not very much if need be!).
OK, hope I explained myself ok and need to read more of the thread.
ETA Not in debt, and with threads like this, hope to keep it that way ?

Yes, I am still basking in the wonderful feeling! Lots of hospital appointments for DH this week, so it's nice to have something wonderful to look back on.

Welcome to our newbies. :) I had a laugh on Monday, the Tax Office sent me my new code number, and it was wrong - no surprise there.

The surprise was that they thought I had a salary in excess of £30,000! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I get about £7K in state and private pensions, and have done for 5 years, so why they thought I'd suddenly get a massive rise, I don't know.

Then I realised they had added a nought to my private pensions (about £3K) - but though they corrected it whilst I was on the phone, nobody apologised!

I had a Costco shop yesterday, and though my chicken fillets and salmon purchases came to £70, I've cut and portioned everything, and have nearly 40 meals for the 2 of us out of that. We both love stir-fry, and with a weekly Spag Bol as well, courtesy of a bag of frozen lean mince, I shouldn't need to buy any meat or fish till May.

I've looked at my spends for the first quarter of the year, and though I'm not delirious with joy, I'm satisfied with the total. If anyone hasn't saved as much as they hoped, or spent more, don't be too hard on yourself. :( Even if you've only saved 50p, it's going in the right direction. :)

    xx

Sandra, sorry for butting in but do you have to fill in a self assessment for income tax as you get two pensions? It seems I had too and did not know and got fined £100. I have appealed it so just waiting but in the meantime I got my new tax code for next year. It has me baffled.

    Hellllooooooo......
Sorry I've been missing, head hasn't been in a good place, but all is well, well apart from I have caught a bug from my son, it takes a lot of effort n energy to move any part of my body... we both have a horrible barking cough and high temperatures :-(

Been busy with sorting the house, I took at least 20 bin bags full to the dump, should have recycled but that's part of my problem, it never gets out the house as i always forget to take it with me.

Ordered a £300 cabin style bed for sons birthday, but I got the price down to £100 :-D its coming on his actual birthday when he will be out at his dads, just realised he won't be at nursery that day, might get them to set it up the day before (did I tell u I also got delivery, set up and they are dismantling and taking away his broken bed in that price)

I've got woopsie pork fillet and pork chops to use, need to look for a recipe

Going to have read over the past page or two, to see what's been happening, but after I get the energy to hang the washing out and put all my dry stuff away...

P.s. got the heating sorted for now :-)
