Well it does really - 50k is f.uck all in London

what do other jobs in london warrant then? if 50k is warranted for driving a tube train, then what should a policeman, school teacher or nurse working in london be paid? presumably they should all be paid more. maybe they 'should', but clearly that is not sustainable.

also, 50k is well over the average salary in london. i can't think of any other jobs where you can get by on a 35 hour week, with 40 days annual leave, and earn 50k in the process. mind you, tube drivers don't actually get paid 50k, they're on a max of about 44k at the moment i think.

    Irrelevant.

The point is that they could all be replaced by others on 25 to 30k in a pretty short period of time.

There are hundreds of thousands of people more than capable of doing the job just as well in London who would not be making such demands on the threat of strike.

Nevertheless, your suggestion is against the law.
