Dockland light railway can work safely without drivers.

I covered the issue at uni and the only reason the system isn't automated is people feel uncomfortable with driver-less trains. However now a days people are getting more use to technology and attitudes are changing, this is being reinforced each time the drivers try and hold us hostage.

The underground system in Bangkok works incredibly efficiently without drivers.
  • Go and have a look on you tube for the London Underground Song, it might make you smile - be warned its a bit crude in places though!
I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling ;)

Isn't it normal for the tube to shut on New Year's Day?

Do we have to have this exact thread every two months?

1st post: "Here's an article saying tube drivers want more money."
2nd post: "They earn £50k already."
3rd to 7th post: Various people saying that a monkey could do it and the drivers just press go and stop. The Docklands Light Railway works with driverless trains, don't you know that?
8th post: "But surely there's safety aspects to the job?"
9th to 142nd post: Various people saying that a monkey could do it and the drivers just press go and stop. The Docklands Light Railway works with driverless trains, don't you know that?
143rd post: "Why don't you all go and be tube drivers for £50k a year then if it's so easy?"
144th to 202nd post: Various people saying that a monkey could do it and the drivers just press go and stop. The Docklands Light Railway works with driverless trains, don't you know that?

<thread ends, do thread again in two months time>

What would be easier is a sticky at the top of this forum with all the people we're meant to hate if you post here. I presume it would consist of:
    • Gordon Brown
    • Mervyn King
    • That bloke who posted on here once who owned a property investment company
    • Tube drivers
    • Landlords
    • Fergus and Thingy Wilson
    • Kirsty, Phil, Beeney, that Irish chap and all other property people
    • Hamish
    • People with public sector pensions
    • Landords
    • Anyone with a 'non-worthy' job in the public sector
    • Anyone who works for a council
    • Councils
    • Landlords
    • Landlords
    • People with interest only mortgages
    • Landlords
    • Hamish
    • Fergus Wilson
    • Landlords
    • Tube drivers
    • Landlords
Maybe we could all look at this list first thing each morning and do the 1-minute hate together?

Tube drivers acting in self interest then. Plus ca change.

How is this different from MPs voting for a weeks holiday this winter to compensate for holiday lost during the summer riots ?
