The pot bit of my slowcooker has a crack in the bottom! On the underside. Do you think it will be safe to use? Or should I get a new one?

Think I did it pouring hot water in to clean it!

I am trying to get organised by doing some batch cooking at the weekends, so for example when I make a shepherds pie, I am doubling up the recipe, does this mean that I need to cook it for longer as I am using double the amount of ingredients?
Also where can I buy large pans for cooking big portions? There are 5 of us in the house, so ideally I would like to cook enough for 10 portions.

Seems a bit odd that you'd crack the underside by pouring boiling water in, but personally I'd contact the manufacturer and see if they do replacement pots, and if so how much.

There's a limit to how many times you can reheat cooked chicken before it becomes a health hazard, so if you heated it on Sunday I'm not sure how many more times I'd heat it, if that makes sense. But then I don't like curry so mine would probably have gone into cold pasta with mayo and sweetcorn.

  • I just found an open box of harvest moon strawberry crunch cereal (from aldi I think) - it's like a museli with dried strawberries- in my cupboard. It's been open a few months so it's gone a bit soft, but still have 3/4's left.

Any ideas of what I can make with it? I was thinking cakey or cereal bar type thing, but open to suggestions.

    Thanks
