I shop between Al@i and AS@d. We all love their chocolates and my Kids prefer their chocolate reindeers to other well known brands. Veg is great and cheap when on offer. Buy loads of baking items, milk is cheap, Cooked meats are lovely. The free range whole chickens for £4.99 are fab too. 12 sports bottles of water for £1.99 great for school lunches.

I've never tried the dog food :rotfl: but I agree with previous posts. Kitchen gloves are cheap but cheerful and their more expensive conserve selling at 99p is gorgeous.0

MoneyLover, turkey crown is not in a silver tray but it is frozen. I think they are £9.99 at the moment but quite often they have them, along with the goose, on special offer in the run up to Xmas - definitely worth popping in the freezer.2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

my recommended buys are
the chickens - even the cheap ones are far superior in taste to either Tresco or Adsa.
The Jam or marmalade - its better than my home made - tho it grieves me to admit it!
The cooked meats - why do thiers taste better than the Deli counter ones?
The breakfast cereals - no different to the 'Branded' ones.
I like the Aldi ground coffee - the Italian or American one is my preference.
My Oh loves the Rich Roast instant coffee - prefers it to Nescaff.
Aldi veg and fruit have been brilliant in my local Aldi. its cheaper than the Market and fresher. but others have said they have been disappointed. I think this may be down to the store manager not 'managing' properly! Was the same in the Somerfield where I worked - the fresh veg was over ordered - result was that by the time it got on the shelf - it was NOT fresh!
You may like thier frozen prawns - my grandkids do! they are lovely and you get a lot more for your money than in the major supermarkets.
The wine and beers - me and OH have had a lot of fun trying these out! mostly they are very good - couple of them we havent liked......but that is personal preference perhaps. OH loves the Taurus Cider, I cant remember which Merlot he likes (but it usually finds it way into the trolley) and I like their cheap lager!
oh and thier Baileys lookalikey is gorgeous!
Free range eggs are good and tasty.
and thier cheese.............I love thier cheeses! My OH would only ever eat cheddar - but he loves thier Dutch Gouda Slices! for his sarnies or just melted on toast. I love their Parmesan Reggiano. and the soft cheeses. and the smoked bavarian cheese.0 -
The frozen apple pie is great & so is the custard.
the chocolate wafer bars - are just the same as the name brand.
mixed fruit jam - lovely- just like a named brand.
hand cream brilliant- I use the one for dried hands- esp good for this weather.
the salted butter is great - esp on hot jacket potatoes.
we buy the large eggs - good quality.
brown sugar - makes lovely cookies - this can be very expensive else where.
try the mixed vanilla & chocolate puddings for 26p I think - very nice.0 -
I tend to split my shopping between Asda, Mozzers and Aldi. The Aldi items that we have tried and thought were really good are the conserves, beef mince, Magnum washing up liquid, lemon dishwasher tablets, premium lager (similar to Stella, if not nicer), white wines, spices, cubed pancetta, cheese, fruit juice, energy drinks, milk, fruit and veg, iced coffee drinks, tinned beans and chopped toms, chilli peanuts (absolutely gorgeous), beef wellington and frozen pizza.0
