If you have an options button you just push that twice, the first time selects prewash, then the second time selects quick wash. I now use it all the time on a 40 wash and it washes exactly the same, I have a messy 2 year old so need it to wash properly.

Thanks Manda! I've just had a look and yes there is this option button and it is stated clearly on the panel about Quick wash.

How silly was I not exploring it properly when we first got this machine!

I've got a Hotpoint one and it takes 2 hours but I can cut out one rinse and cut it down to 1 hour 45 minutes if I want.

I know me too, if I hadn't seen this thread earlier I'd have carried on washing for 2hrs! Doh!
  • I've got a Zanussi that takes 1 hour on 40 degrees with big spin...it has a "quick" button....clothes very clean at end:money:
  • my mum has had an indesit for about 18months and i said to her last week have you but another wash on she said no i think there is something not right with the washer it takes about 4 or 5 hours to do a wash its been like that for months.

can any 1 advise on what the problem might be or how much to get it fixed.
i always use a quick was as most clothes havnt been worn for more than a few hours and it takes 30mins.

i have a miele my shortest wash is 30mins quick wash on 30 or 40 degrees, a standard wash takes a wopping 1.59 on a 30 but saying that cleans better than any machine i have previously had and the 1400 spin on it is good (bit im still finding drying hard combined with haveing no heating on)

The shortest wash on my Bosch WAS32466 is 15 minutes, for a 30c wash - and 20 minutes, for a 40c wash.
Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.

my wm (in rented flat) is a basic indesit, takes ages on even a 40degree wash, esp if there's not much hot water in the tank. Much slower than my old servis washer. It does however have a 'daily wash' setting which is about 30 mins but i wouldn't use it for everything.

DH's parents got a new hoover washer last year and that takes ages but apparently that's cos its eco friendly / energy saving which means heats the water up very slowly.

  • I have Bosch as well with the 15 minute programme.
My favourite is the 'mixed wash' which takes 40 minutes at 40 degrees
I love the way it tells you how long each cycle will take and you can change temperature spin speed etc.

4 or 5 hours for a wash sounds like something has gone wrong in the machine. I'd get someone to look at it.
