Barclaycard to fix transfer problems? Err. No.
My new card is still not recognised as a valid card number by Asda mobile, who say they have had many problems because Barclaycard has not propagated the new range of card numbers out as it should have:mad:We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Well with Santander's Zero card, faster payments appear online within minutes of being made, so it is possible. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

I did not want a Barclaycard and told them.
They sent one anyway. I destroyed it immediately, told them I had done so and that I wanted nothing mre to do with Barclaycard.
What did they do? They took £120 out of my main current account in a different bank, using the details from Egg.
I have not signed a direct debit with Barclaycard.
Is this not fraud by Barclaycard/
My own bank is doing wvwerything they can to try to slime out of tackling Barclaycard.
"Anyone can set up a direct debit for your account, they don't need your permission to do so" I am told by the lady on my bank's helpline.
How can my bank think this?
They really do think we the customers are just an inconvenience in their self-serving money merry-go-round.0 -

Extraordinary.
Get back to your bank and tell them that under the terms of the direct debit guarantee you are instructing them to recall the payment. They are obliged to do so, although if you really do owe money to Barclaycard you could then be in trouble with them.0 -

Decided not to use Barclaycard until I was sure I could log in online to view my account. Registered using their online form which required a lot more passwords etc to remember than Smile ever did. So I made a note of each detail submitted. Logged-off, then found I was unable to log back in. Used their "forgotten" detail to see which detail might have a typo. Found using first detail to elicit email reminder from them was rejected. Ahh that must be my typo so tried retrieving first detail using second detail - failed again!
Used online form to explain problem. Barclays told me to delete all PC internet history then try again - failed to work. Two more complaints using online form asking them to fix were not answered sensibly so I said thank you, please cancel my Barclaycard. I never had any problems during my years with Egg. Seeing all these complaints, Glad I had not used Barclay's aweful card! :beer:0 -
For the second month in a row my dd has been shown on my barclaycard statement as taken them repaid! Barclaycard didn't see fit to inform me, so it was two weeks before I notice it on my statement.
My bank insist the dd is set up and active from their end and there has been no attempt to take the money. Barclay card insist my bank refused payment. I have ample funds and the bank says it would show on their records if they had refused.
After November, the first month, Barclaycard assured me it was all set up and would be going out in December as scheduled!0 -
I did not want a Barclaycard and told them.
In fact they've been doing so since April, when the purchase was completed. You will have been sent a letter about the intended reassignment of your contract at the time. If you didn't want to deal with Barclaycard at all, that was the time to get out.
You've been dealing with Barclaycard since then, notwithstanding that the admin has been subcontracted back to Citibank.
You can terminate your contract only as provided in the T&C."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
After calling my bank, then Barclays, then my bank I secure mailed Barclaycard who just keep blaming my bank. My bank say Barclaycard didn't try to take the dds. Barclays say they were refused. I'm going round in circles.
What do I do now?0 -
If the DDs were refused they would show on your current account statement as having been taken then returned unpaid.
If this is not the case, then Barclaycard are lying. You need to raise a formal written complaint with Barclaycard.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
