Or do you know better ?
I certainly know charges are not guaranteed.
My DD went through fine with no charges.

If you are eager to find out, you could use one of the 0800 numbers and ask over the phone.
  • My experience with Barclays CS team has been very poor as well.
I expected my DD to come out on the 1st Dec after receiving my statement on the 15th of Nov. It didn't I figured they would wait till the payment due date of the 12th Dec so I contacted them via the secure email system. I asked if I could have my DD come out on the first giving allowing me to be happy in the knowledge that the bill would be paid well in advance of it been required. I then got a reply say they had changed my billing day from the 11 to the 6th and my payment would be due on the 2nd - 18th.. Sorry but that's not what I asked for! I wrote back explain this and that I was happy with the statement on the 15th and final payment due on the following 12th but would like my dd on the 1st. I then got told my billing day was 11 (so I assumed they'd changed that back) but no mention of the dd.
    I wrote again
This time it was explained to me that the billing day 11 means that they prepare your bill on the 11th 'working' day of the month and then require 25 days to pay but basically as they don't count weekends in the payment due day changes so billing day 6 for example results in a final payment date of between the 2nd and the 18th of the following month hence the date is not set.
So I asked if I could have the billing date as the 11 (as it wa originally) and the final payment day 12th to what ever it was but have the DD taken on the 1st. I also stated that if they could not separate the dd from the FP day then that's ok I'd pay manually on the 1st. I then got a reply stating everything about billing days again but no mention of the DD day further more that my billing day was 6th... Hold on didn't it get changed back in email 2!!!. I wrote again stating that I understood this billing day business but no one in all the emails even mentioned the DD. I finally got a email that stated all the billing day crap again (which I'd already said I understood) and that no it wasn't possible to separate the DD from the FP day. And if I wanted to go back to a billing day of 11 I had to write again after the 13th Dec... What the F!!!!! They had then taken my letter as a complaint and would pass it on to the customer relations team!!!! Sorry but I never made a official complaint I simply had to ask 5 times if the DD could be on a different day to the FPD!
I'd hate to think was it's like if you have a major problem!
And way the CR team haven't been in touch but I have just paid off the balance. And once it clears I'll be leaving BarclayCard. Though from what I've read even closing your account doesn't close it for at least 3 years!!
    :-(

You need to get your credit reports and chase them up if they don't do it.
Sorry but anyone who has waited 3 years - only has themselves to blame as you should be checking your credit report more frequently than that.

Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones, my balance was £0.50, it was taken by DD last month, my latest statement say balance £0.00.

Had a call from Barclaycard today, to welcome me and ask if everything was ok and if there is anything they can do for me, don't hesitate to call them.

Amazingly no hard sell either. So thumbs up from me.

A user ID that can be seen on the screen that needs both letters and numbers and must be greater than 6 characters, to be followed by a Passcode that can only be 6 digits long ....
If you don't understand what constitutes a good password/code then the Wikipedia entry is a good starting point - wikipedia.org/wiki/Password_strength

Yes I do have a DD for the whole amount, that hasn't stopped Barclays charging interest it seems on the transferred accounts ..
Also the fact that I haven't been able to login for 4 days and counting ....

    Thats my beef!

Chill out, have a glass of wine, if that doesn't work lie down
  • Barclaycard have finally replied to my complaint of over a month ago. Direct debit was taken, cashback is now on screen and second cardholder no longer has an age of over 100. (Wife was really impressed about age). And they have credited my account with £25 so it was worth the effort. Over the years I have moved 2 bank accounts away from Barclays and closed at least one Barclaycard account because of mistakes and appalling service. I will be watching carefully!
  • I had both Mastercard and VISA cards with Egg. Neither of the replacement cards has worked for online payments at websites which use the Sage payment authorisation software. This is most small business websites.

I had a new Barclaycard from troublefree Egg and its been a disaster. Tried to change my payment details for several of the trusted big on-line retailers only to have the card declined! I pay off the total balance every month a my last payment has gone through. I even got an email from Barlclaycard congratulating me on my first purchase. Next step will see the card chopped up and the pieces sent back to them. Shame on a big company getting things so wrong.

I have an existing Barclaycard account and expected the transfer of the Egg account to be reasonably straightforward as described in their letters and emails. Both accounts have been managed online for many years. The Egg account was transferred to a new account with a different user ID and initially did not include either the Egg accrued cashback or previous statements. After many emails and phone calls they have managed to find my cashback and merge the accounts onto one ID but there are "technical issues" concerning previous statements which they hope will be resolved later. In planning this process surely they should have tested how it would work or is that too much to ask?
