As many of the other posters have said if you don't enjoy it don't carry on. I look on comping as a hobby with the occasional perk! This year my winning ratio is 1:122 . If I win it's a bonus but if I don't then that's just the luck of the draw. I've had quite a dry spell these last couple of months and have not won anything big at all this year, except tickets for Paranormal Activity premiere!! :j and to some even that's not a huge prize.
Why not have a little break for a while then see how you feel in a few weeks

For me its a hobby and a chance to get things for the family that we otherwise could not afford. I am not working due to ill health so have time on my hands and spend about an hour a day comping if I am well enough. Every time I start to get disheartened something lovely turns up. We are still reeling from the shock of the currys/pc world 10k win, and since have had tickets to the England football, baking goodies, a cardigan and a game, all great xmas pressies for us to give out. They say the lowest ebb is the turn of the tide and that is how it seems for me.
Take a break if you feeling down, and dabble again when you ready. REal people do win, but it is the luck of the draw.
Good luck xxJanuary 2012 Debenhams Goodie Bag and Conor Maynard Tickets (= happy teenage daughter!).
Thanks to all who post, and GL to all who try!!0 -
I have felt like that in the past and then I take a complete break. I believe it is only worth doing if you enjoy it since winning is not guaranteed and since so many of us enter the chances of winning are longer than a few years ago.
I now only enter competitions I would like to win, limit the time I spend since I don't wish to spend all my free time after work glued to my pc and then I feel like its a hobby. I appreciate some people win a lot more but then they spend a lot more time entering, maybe they are housebound and cannot work and so have more time.
Anyway take a break and then try again and only do it if you enjoy it. Best of luck.

i hadnt comped since last december and won quite a big prize within 2 weeks of doing it again for my daughter, i dont expect to win anything major now as to me that one big win was amazing but im still having a few small wins so it keeps me ticking over lol

Your winning ratio is good purplevamp, I used to win a lot but mine was around 1:400 back in the good ole days before everyone jumoed on the bandwagon

To be honest like others say if you don't enjoy it don't enter, life is far too short to be doing things you don't enjoy. I gave comping a break for a few months because my family, studies and money making for Christmas came first. Now I have taken care of Christmas I can enjoy my hobby again. I don't expect to win, I enter and forget about it as it's just part of my routine in the evening before bed.
If your fed up of not getting prizes why dont you earn some money through surveys, free bingo, survey panels, product testing, panel groups, scanning your weekly shopping, mystery shopping, These all get guaranteed results and can bring in hundreds of pounds a month with just as much if not less effort.
We always say, if there was a 'I didn't win, I didn't win board' It would fill up within hours. Hundreds of thousands of people enter these comps, the odds are low but if you enjoy entering then why not?Comping wishlist for 2017

Also it might help to take peoples wins with a pinch of salt, there are people who spend all day comping who have long lists of wins at the end of the month, most of us have families and other hobbies, work etc and can't put in anywhere near the amount of hours as some do so really do take what people win with a pinch of salt and just enjoy it.Comping wishlist for 2017

Dont give up, again I just see it as a hobby, spend couple hours a night entering stuff. Dont have the time to do them all day, as at work, or out and about. Doing them just makes life exciting, esp when the postie comes, or checking your emails.
I tend to win a bit each month, but rarely those big big prizes, but when I do get them its amazing. One of the best this year was a comp I won earlier in the year of £550 roses for 12 months, now each month I get a £55 bouquet of roses delivered. That really puts a smile on my face and my mums beginning of every month.
More and more people are entering now and it is harder and harder, but like others say stay positive and keep going, " you gotta be in it to win it" after all lol.2015 Big wins: luxury 7 night holiday in sharm el sheikh, theatre tix, £123, IPad Air 16gb, Night in London hotel celebjuicetix :, Portable dvd playerT

Well last year I won a holiday to Germany, a fantastic holiday to Los Angeles, and a laptop computer I haven't won anything that good this year but like someone said earlier just dreaming about winning stuff is fun too.Once I start entering them I just want to keep going.I'm a firm believer in the more you enter the more chance you have of winning. You could enter 400 competitions win nothing then enter one more and win something excellent.June Wins : Pair of MGM Expo Tickets,6 VIP Tickets Isle Of Wight Festival,Samsung N130 Netbook, Two Night Trip To Cologne, Royal Mail King George Stamp set July Wins : Pair of One day Wireless Festival Tickets, Ryobi Goal and Football.
