Just not worth it

This whole comping thing just is not worth my time at all . I've just had enough and it's got me so fed up .

Not won a thing in months and that was only a pair of headphones .

I enter soo many . Just , had , enough .

Just wanted to share my opinion . Not worth it !

  • well i think it is :)
  • Sorry to hear you feel like that Toby Jack Jack.

Wishing you lots of luck - although it seems it is stressing you out and you are not enjoying it and not seeing a return so perhaps a break from it would be good?

    Take up another hobby perhaps?

    good luck to you

  • If you don't enjoy actually ENTERING the competitions (as well as just winning them) then you're right. It isn't worth it. :)

I guess it can be a little disheartening if you win nothing for so long but i think for a lot of people half the fun is imagining winning the stuff while you are entering and of course the anticipation of finding something waiting when you get home :)
  • I have had quite a dry spell lately so I will only enter competitions if I am particularly in the mood rather than every day as I used to until I get back in the mood to do them daily. What makes me not give up completely is the running joke that I have with my husband that the 42" television I want COULD be winging its way to me soon but DEFINITELY WON'T if I don't enter any. :)

I think that with comping if you do it just to try and win things then it can become a bit of a chore.

I enter competitions because I find it enjoyable. If I win then that's just a bonus.

That's really sad to read,I think that comping should be looked at as a hobby and although it can be disheartening nothing is guaranteed ,maybe if it is getting to you so much a little break may be needed ,I personally enjoy just the entering and find it very worth it but we are all different ,hopefully a win will come along that will totally change the way you look at things ,Good luck.

There is times when it can be very disheartening when you put time and effort into it and get nothing back, but like the others have said part of the fun is imagining what prizes could be on their way.

Whenever I have felt a bit fed up I go to the winners pics thread and it always gives me inspiration!

I'd had a fairly quiet 12 months of winning, but had been busy at work so not been able to dedicate as much time to it. Since finishing work for mat leave I've had plenty of time to enter waiting for my little ones arrival. And this week I've won £400 vouchers, an iPad and a 3d tv package. You definitely have to be in it to win it and a fab unexpected prize makes all the time spent worthwhile!

Keep at it, you never know what round the next corner!
  • Congrats Molly on fab wins and good luck with bump :)

I treat comping like I'm window shopping...Very often "Oooh I'd like one of those:T:T" pops into my head when entering! If I win, I win. If I don't the anticipation of the win keeps me going.
If you are getting fed up with it perhaps taking a break for a while would be good.
So many people seem to post this sort of thing then the next week they seem to win BIG _party_:j_party_! Hope this happens for you.
