I definitely agree with the people that are saying the fun is in the entering. I drive my fiance mad by constantly asking him 'Hon, could we do with another sofa?' or 'If I win this Xbox and give it to you, you have to buy me something extra pretty for Christmas!'. It's fun imagining what you would do with the prizes-

I do this type of stuff too.
Ask him 'Sweets if I won this do you know someone who would want it?

I have taken a 2 year break before now and then when I came back I won nothing for a whole year but when I did it was a biggie.

Its just carrying on if you have the time
The 2 year break was because I just did not have time at all and was fed up of not winning
I still have a scrap book of my wins at that time and for a whole year me and the kids went to the cinema every week for free (but I won nowt:rotfl:) and i still wear some of the tshirts I won from then (but I won nowt:rotfl:) and I remember drinking the cranberry juice that I could not afford (but I won nowt:rotfl:)
and that was my biggest comping break but I still did the local paper email competitions
I swear I was the only one to enter the cinema tix and every week I won, thank you weekly news. oh and I also won a dvd player from local paper but I had no dvds to play on it and that got me comping again, what use is a dvd player without dvds, I still have that player too:j

wish you luck whatever you decide

  • Give yourself a break! I felt the same a couple of months ago then 2 months after quitting I won an ipad 2, I was so surprised! I've started entering again, but not spending too much time on it, if it becomes too consuming it can get a little tiring and I'm not going to spend all hours doing it! If I win, then it's luck! There is an element of thinking "oh that would be nice" and if you haven't got that then maybe it's time to have a little time off! Come back in the new year and see how you feel!

I agree, part of the fun I take out of it is knowing that a winning email/phone call could be coming any second!

Plus the postman arriving is always exciting!

I think the problem is, and I do it myself, you see so many winners here that you expect to win yourself and when you don't you get disheartened.

I have been comping since July 10 and have won a lot of lovely things so I guess I am just lucky. BUT, I could get annoyed that I haven't won the ITV money or the holiday or hotel break or whatever. I'm always just grateful for everything (not fussy me ::rotfl:)
  • I do know just how you feel. I have been comping for years and have not won a thing (except for one minor runner up prize for somethingi didn't even enter !) It is a bit disappointing but stick with it because you just never know and it is an enjoyable way to spend a few minutes a day. I often wonder how they select winners from so many entries. I personally think my lack of success may be partly down to having a common surname and living just within the London postal area. Bit of a double whammy. Comp organisers probaby think anyone within 50 miles of London is wealthy and they want a name that stands out a bit to promote publicising winners names. Just a theory but you never know !! Don't give up just yet it does not cost anything and always gives you something to be optomistic about - a win is just a phone call or email away. :)

i comp because i enjoy entering them, and like many have said, if i win, its just a bonus! I have gone through dry spells definately, but i just think, i have more chamce winning that tv than i do the lottery, and its FREE so why not, in it to win it ;) theres always that slight chance :D

I like to enter just for fun, I never expect to win but if I do it's a bonus.
I think if you expect to win you will be disappointed.
    Nothing is guaranteed after all!
I have never won a "biggie" but appreciate all the wins I have had!! ;)
