In the next twenty years its the equivalent of 7 cities the size of Birmingham with many heading for the south east.

Well given that 75%+ of children are born to British parents that means that without immigrants, we'll only have 5.25 cities the size of Birmingham popping up. That sounds much better.

Indeed, you hit the nail on the head! The rest of the overcrowding will be from letting more and more in NOT babies born to immigrant women although that does account for 25% (nice maths).

Romania are next, and how long before Turkey joins the ranks? With the immigration comes more and more babies and the cycle continues.

How can we possibly fit and maybe more importantly afford to keep the doors wide open?

What percentage of migrants access the benefits system?

Money for children, more money for more children. What about the effect on midwifes? It's the unspoken truth but we need more midwifes because of the amount of migrant births it has nothing to do with cuts but no one will say that for fear of being called racist.

    no
the 7 extra cities are required to accommodate the net immigration and the increase in birth rate

I can't get over the thought that overcowding in this context is synonymous with non-white immigration, just a thought.

Aparently not, last year the Polish mums were the biggest percentage of non British born women having kids. Before that it was Pakistani women.

Its not an easy subject to do anything about, you can't tell people to have fewer kids, but giving anyone a financial incentive to breed is not a good idea no matter if they are immigrants or the indigenous population. Maybe child benefit for the first couple of kids only is the way to go (I can feel a new thread lol).

The only easy answer is to close the welcome to Britain door and to do that we need our own border control back.
  • Going to back to non-white immigration, why do people assume that is the problem people have, it's the Eastern Europeans doing the real damage, also why do we have so many South Africans here doing jobs that aren't particularly highly skilled .

so what exactly is your view about the overall level of immigration?

that it should be unlimited because otherwise it could be consider racist?

that it should be limited only to non-white to prove our non-racist credentials (yes I know this is racist too)

    or something else?

Exactly my point, the instigator of the petition has stated this in the recent past
Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migration Watch UK, said Mr Woolas's estimate about the number of immigrants that remained in the UK was "in the right ball park" but the focus on Poles was a "distraction from the wider challenges of mass immigration".
"East Europeans as a whole - A8s - account for only 10% of the total foreign-born population of the UK," he said.

That's the problem when you try to discuss immigration someone always puts it down to it being a racist issue.

It's all colours from all countries, we let anyone and everyone in and most have no means to fend for themselves or any of their current and/or future siblings. We give them somewhere to live, housing benefit, child benefit. Access to the NHS, access to social services it all costs money and as the overcrowding gets worse it will cost us billions. New roads, more trains, more schools, hospitals the list goes on.

Any other already over crowded country would be making a case for the reasons they are closing the door yet we still have it open.

Personally, I will fight to defend my job and livelihood from all incomers; be it Polish, Indian, South African, whoever.

It would be no comfort to me that the person taking my work was white (so that's okay is it?).

Of course I might be the odd one out, but I suspect if I suggested to my MP that he hand his job over to a Hungarian person because they were half the price he would also object.

This issue will not go away though the politicians probably wish it would.
