There would have to be a credible alternative political party that supported leaving the EU and abandoning the human rights legislations before the three main parties politicians introduced effectively immigration laws.
The EEA countries pay a lot into the EU.
Unfortunately being in this continent means you are screwed if you want easier visa regulations for your people and easier trading.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

the e-petition will makae no difference
we can't refuse eu nationals in any event and we have no effective way of keeping anyone else out either
This is a start...
http://www.ukip.org/I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -
We should make a clearer separation between free movement around Europe to gain work and permanent residency.
As a European citizen I should be able to sell my skills into Germany, France, et al.
I would not expect an automatic right to settle there.0 -
What does it matter who someone's parents are?
I didn't say it did but it does have an effect on our population which this thread is about, if immigration continues and the birth rate of non British born remains (roughly 4 children, as compared with the traditional 2), we need to start thinking about more, roads, schools, hospitals, job centers. You name it.
In the next twenty years its the equivalent of 7 cities the size of Birmingham with many heading for the south east.
There is nothing wrong with where anyone if from but we do need to get a grip on this. The most populated country in Europe is not a good place to be.0 -
its not my fault that my ex wife(the native one) was thinking of having a baby when we were 45!...i felt that at if we had baby at 45 we would have needed a nany and a caretaker for us

the foreign wife i got now, we got a boy at 35....kinda cut 10 years from the waiting list

            No it won't.
They can't block EU citizens.
They can try and block British Nationals whose partners are non-UK/EU passport holders but the government of the day will waste money being taken to the ECHR.
They can pay lip-service to blocking workers with skills businesses say they need but as soon as those businesses offer the said politician in charge money or their partner a high paying role they roll over.
But they can change the benefits system for all.
It's that, which in many cases, brings immigrants here. Were known to be the soft touch of europe. Even immigrants themselves have stated that, doesn't matter where they are from.
They won't seek out France for instance, and the scenes of camps which we saw in France would simply never happen here, because afterall, we are a soft touch. At the end of the day, we have no different set of rules imposed on us, compared to France. But the french won't take it, and are actually happier to see them in camps on the border.
Family have recently moved to France and become immigrants, difference is, they were able to pay their way, so they are welcomed. One of the family had an accident while over there, and he was treated and then presented with a bill. The NHS paid it (another rant I could have), but if they didn't, he would have been expected to pay. Here they just turn up, we look at a list of countries and give them whatever they want.0 -

There's a certain amount of irony in a petition about overcrowding being signed by a lot of people.0
