what does your child have for breakfast

I am another one who cannot stomach anything to eat until about 11am!! (copious amounts of tea but no breakfast for me!!)
I do get up and make breakfast for the rest of them tho..
toast and marmite
rice krispies
egg on toast
beans on toast
and everyones favourite is ham and poached egg on muffins (or just on toast if I've forgot to get muffins!!).... I have to admit, it is delish... and was my healthier take on Mcdonalds bacon and egg muffins (not that we used to have them very often... we live too far away from the nearest drive thru!) but they go down a treat!!
weekends we do have sausage or bacon sandwiches!0 -
I cannot face anything first thing in the morning, apart from coffee. Then have brekkers about an hour later.
My DD (2.5 yr) has a beaker of milk as soon as she gets up and is a bit of a grazer. She's gone off cornflakes, readybrek, toast, crumpets, scrambled eggs. At the moment, she likes a slice of bread and butter cut up into soldiers and a fruit smoothie/fresh juice. Or yoghurt and half a banana.
I feel so bad, some of the littles ones her age have such good appetites!
DD does drink plenty of full fat milk. Also, I cook her proper meals with protein, veggies, carbs for lunch and dinner. She doesn't like sandwiches for lunch (but will have bread and butter for breakfast! How does that work?!?!?).

I am a big believer in the benefits of having breakfast but I also think that if doesnt have to be cereal and toast.
My 10 year old wont eat cereal so has fruit, yoghurt and some kind of bread product (bagels, brioche rolls, or even home made tea cakes, muffins or scones).
My 12 year old has cereal and toast. I resist the cocoa pops type cereals and try to get him to have weetabix or cheerios which he likes.
OH has porridge done in the microwave and I have shredded wheat. We are fairly easy to please!
We never sit down together as a family and have breakfast though, except on weekends. Everyone kinds of eats as they get ready which is a terrible habit!0 -
My two (5yrs and 6yrs old) have cereal or porridge for breakfast in the week before school. They might also have a piece of fruit or a yoghurt if they fancy it.
At the weekend I might do something a bit more exciting like bacon rolls, boiled egg & soldiers, scrambled egg on toast, beans on toast or kippers.
I find the idea of children (especially primary age ones) going to school without breakfast inside them a bit shocking tbh.0 -
My kids aren't allowed through the door with out breakfast. Its very important. They differ between cereal, toast, bacon & toast........ DS will eat about 4 pots of yogurt.0

My daughter (11) has strange breakfast tastes ! She's not really interested in food so i tend to give her what she asks for, some days it's a ham, tuna or cheese sandwich, some days toast with Marmite, some days she'll ask for tomatoes, cucumber and cheese ! She's not interested in sweet stuff, so cereals are out, she doesn't like the whole wheat ones. This morning she asked for a fried egg sandwich ! At weekends we either have a full english or bacon sarnie but she loves making pancakes best, with lemon juice and a bit of sugar.0

I *imagine* it's He Who Thinks He Must Be Obeyed (but isn't at all as she's in charge!).
An old colleague of mine and I used to refer to our boss as 'SWMBO' - she who must be obeyed. Hence I made the connection...!' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
DS1 is a creature of habit and will always eat weetabix and hot milk. DS2 will eat anything from beans on toast, bacon & egg on toast to a ham & cheese sarnie and crisps!!0

My son gets rice crispies in the morning - I won't buy the sugary cereals. My daughter gets given toast at nursery but I give her juice before we go out. I eat breakfast when I get into work because I can't face anything immediately after waking up, and I get free toast and fruit at work. My husband tends to eat the sandwiches I make him for breakfast, and skips lunch.0
