what does your child have for breakfast

I'm not a breakfast person so Dh has always been in charge of breakfast as unlike me he sets a good example (this also means I get an extra 15 min in bed so it's all good!). I usually grab some toast when I get back from the school run.
The girls (5 and 2) have a choice of plain cereals (cheerios, branflakes, shreddies, weetabix) with dried fruit (on the side for the picky toddler) and full fat milk with a cup of squash on a weekday. Sometimes DD1 asks for toast and she can have it but only if she has a cup of milk as well. This generally puts her off and tbh I prefer her to have cereal as its fortified and means I know she always gets enough vitamins and iron as well as the calcium in the milk.
On the weekend I let them have 'chocolate cereal' which is ready brek with a tsp of chocolate milkshake powder followed by wholemeal toast and honey (there just isn't time for both on a schoolday).
When we are on holiday they have Coco Pops and they think that is the biggest treat in the world!0 -
School days could be any of cereal, toast, cheese, eggs, ham, rice, soup etc. with perhaps some fish at the weekend as a brunch with omelettes and occasionally an English style breakfast. Juice, water, milk all on hand.
No fixed regime or menu.0 -
DS2(10) has cereal and a banana and a glass of fruit juice
DD1(14) has a glass of milk at home and buys toast and fruit juice at the school canteen.
DS1(19) Heaven knows - he's at Uni !!!!!!!!0 -
dd1 (4) has cereal without milk! usually cornflakes or hoops, a cup of milk and a piece of toast. Sometimes she has porridge or weetabix(obviously with milk this time!). in the summer she sometimes has yogurt and fruit. Cheese on toast some mornings.
dd2 (1) has cereal with milk, toast and sometimes a yogurt0 -
Mine will have cereal every morning and usually top it off with either pancakes/brioche/toast/crumpets/waffles/muffin/yogurt or fruit. Weekends will be bacon/sausage or egg sarnies or bacon and eggs. My 18 month old likes 2 diff bowls of cereal then jammy toast then she'll be asking for grapes and biscuits on the school run and will graze all morning given the chance!Busy mummy of 4.:j0

Hi
Mine generally have either toast or cereal but they both like chocolate brioche or scotch pancakes if I've got them. I'll also try to get some fruit down them. I usually have a jar of dried fruit and nuts around which they'll eat.

during the week my boys have cereal (wheatabix, rice krispies, cheerios, shreadies...) then toast, yog, grapes or a jelly with fruit and once in a week do something special like bacon and french toast, or fresh made croissants etc.
OT but what does HWTHMBO mean?0 -
My DD & DS (8 & 5) go to breakfast club in school during the week, simply because it gets me to work earlier and I miss the worst of the traffic. They have cereal (choice of rice krispies, corn flakes or shreddies), toast and fruit juice. They used to have fruit (apples, bananas, etc...) but they said that seems to have stopped recently.
On the weekend and school holidays, DD will usually forgo the cereal, unless DH has bought them the variety packs so she'll have a small box of coco pops. What she normally has is two soft boiled eggs and soldiers (with lots of black pepper!). DS will usually have two or three bowls of cereal and then some toast and honey if the mood takes him. He's a really poor eater but breakfast is the one meal he will really fill up on, and he loves a cooked breakfast, beans, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, etc... bizarrely enough!
I'm on SW at the moment so I weigh out my 28g of honey nut shredded wheat and have that with skimmed milk at my desk when I get to work and I'm doing my morning e-mails and bits and pieces. I'm another one who can't face food for a good hour after rising, unless I'm in a hotel with the opportunity for a massive cooked breakfast!!
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0
