this morning got the local paper and found my house up for rent through reeds rains, now im pis*ed off, i feel betrayed that they would market the house for our buyer after everything he has done. they know he told the electrician to make a false report in order to knock the price down so they know he dosent do business within the law. why are they renting it for him, is there anything i can do, like complain to someone and do i have anything to complain about or do i just have a big chip on my shoulder. i can feel my blood boiling i want to storm in the office and take the EA's head off

You can complain to the OEA (Ombudsman of Estate Agents) I've checked and Reeds Rains are a member.

What you can do first is try to get hold of an area manager. The branch you are dealing with will no doubt stand in your way, so I would contact another branch, and ask about their complaints procedure. If you explain that you're not getting anywhere with that branch, hopefully you'll get a call from the area manager.

Always try to stick to the point; I mean don't start talking about the fact that it is up for rent and stuff like that, just the evidence you have that the EA was working in colludes with this buyer.

I'd go for a big discount on the fee and make sure you tell them that you've been advised to go to the OEA. :D

Did the electrician say that it was your purchaser trying to make him find fault? He didn't say anything about the EA?

Would it help if you wrote down bullet points of you are angry with the EA and then see if you have the basis for a complaint? If you do make the call, you'll at least have a list of points to refer to!

    Helps organise the mind ;)

what the electrician said was " when carl (EA) rang to give me this job i asked him why he had asked me to do it as he knows i dont like the guy, the EA's dont like him either, do you know mr smith, he has asked me to exagerate about how much its going to cost so he can ask for more money off, he dose it all the time"

i wouldnt know where to start with making a complaint or what to say.

i was thinking about writing a letter to say that we are dissapointed that they are still doing business with this guy even after they have been fully informed of his tactics which would lead me to believe that they advised us to stick with this guy in order to generate more business for themselves.

would this be an ok thing to do or should i just forget about it.
