We had some pitta pizzas for lunch and they went down well with everyone. Bologneise sauce is simmering away nicely...... Spag Bol for tea. Well freeze half and use it for a lasagne some other time.

Coffee with friend was nice, good to get out and have a catch up.

    Visiting some other friends later......

Had to go shoe shopping for DS1 - when sorting out his school stuff tomorrow I was reminded of the fact that both his school shoes and trainers (sent in to school for PE and basketball club) are practically falling off his feet.

So, off we went. After a few tantrums and sulky faces we ended up with some Clarkes sale school shoes for £20 and then some trainers from Sports Direct for £20. So £40 spent and not the slightest happy face or murmur of thanks.

DS1 is incidentally now grounded for one week (grounding also includes a ban on all things electrical apart from TV)....... drives me nuts when he is so grumpy and ungrateful.

Went to visit friends..... My lovely friend cut the boys hair for me - didn't even have to ask. We arrived, she looked at the state of them and promptly went and got her hairdressing kit.

Dinner was ready and waiting for us to just warm up when we got back and for one both boys ate all of their dinner without any kind of fuss. Hurrah.

I've just had a catch up on the various money spreadsheets and a quick diary catch up and am ready now for a little drink and feet up time in the lounge.......
  • Hi Lula, hope you get chance to enjoy a bit of peace when they go back to school.

Well done on getting hold of school shoes in the sale :T

    £20 for Clarks shoes? That's only £2 a toe :T, well done :D.

(Not that I have ever had to resort to this to justify sandals/boot spends to self of course )

I should have took DD3 today but couldnt face it. Been at week for 37.5 hours in last 3 days so I just wanted to be left alone! Plus needed to clean and cook (with an hour of zumba thrown in)
We have a clarkes factory shop outlet nearby too.

Working all weekend this week so perhaps I should have made the effort! Shes already moaning at me.

Love the cost per toe idea, something else that i shall be using in my household very soon. I most impressed to see that Lois had achieved £1.20 per toe - makes my £2 per toe seem rather expensive!!

I'm not surprised you couldn't face it after all of the work you have been doing, not to mention the batch cooking. Try and get some time to yourself at some point soon my lovely!

Feeling sick in the stomach...... In my mind I had the wrong dates for my sons Feb half term holiday - I've gone and booked a business trip for the same week that he will be off school.

So, DH is taking a few days off and the other days he will need to go to holiday club - while I'm in Miami. It feels so wrong, I'm so upset with myself and feel like having a cry. One of my rules is that I don't go away during school holiday. :(
