Morning (only just...)
No new spending to report. At all..... Good.
Things to return:
-Jeans for DS1, too big (town on Thursday)
-Creams from Boots once they arrive (town on Thursday, due to arrive tomorrow)
-Most (maybe all) of the stuff from MD once it arrives - can do via collect plus I think....
-Airport item back to store - London tomorrow
Planned Imminent Spends
-Painting Man, next week - £450
-Hotel for break away during the School Summer hols
-DH mentioned a book that he'd like to get for DS1, can't remember it's name, need to check
In other non spendy news...... having a bit of a headache with the boys school. DS1 is a lovely lad but he is very easily influenced and attracted to the toe rags. We've spent the last few months convincing him that they are not cool kids and all the stuff you'd expect a parent to say and he finally seems to be seeing sense etc.....
So, imagine my frustration when I found out yesterday that the school has basically put all of the toe rags (inc DS1) in to the same class for next year. I'm so surprised they have done this as the school has had major issues with the group of toe rags and have been separating them and encouraging them to play with other children etc. The police were even involved at one point!
Why would they put them all in the same class?
Anyway, I wrote a letter as soon as I found out that these children had been lumped together and that DS1 would be in the same class. I just feel that all of the hard work with DS1 this year will be wasted if he's sitting with the toe rags in class. I've never wrote a letter or complained before, I'm generally fairly easy going and try and understand things from all angles.
I hand delivered it to the head master at 4:30 yesterday and am currently awaiting a reply.
In the meantime, I have rang another school and will go and visit it with DH on Thursday morning. Sadly they can only currently accommodate DS2 who is currently in reception as their current Y5 is full - however this could change they said.
I do wonder though whether moving DS1 for his final year at school could be worse than him in being in the same class with the toe rags (that i know he will automatically gravitate towards)....... any thoughts??
A stressed Lula x0 -
Just had a call from the school to say he's looking in to it and will come back to me..... fingers crossed they will sort out the issue satisfactorily.....
Spent since this morning:
-DH has bought Lord of the Flies for DS1 - eBay
-Me - I've joined a new gym, no contract, just 30 days notice, £36 so cheaper than the last one. Just had to pay the pro rata fee for July. Bad to have spent but VERY GOOD as have been meaning to sort out my gym membership for ages....... feeling sooooo lazy and I think it will be good for clearing my head too.
Other money news:
I've transferred some money from Saves to the mortgage. I will keep my (non ISA) saves at a level to just cover emergencies rather than building it up as it's clearly too tempting for me.
Have updated my signature, I like to keep things fresh and pretty, lol !!!0 -
What a beautiful sunny morning....
Quick catch up on emails and then I'm heading in to London for a worky catch up day and lunch. Will sort out a return whilst I'm there too.
DH is working from home today so he's going to be issued with strict instructions to refuse delivery of any items that may turn up - figured it's a quicker and more efficient way to return and get my money back.
This will include the MD order - I don't need anything, so accepting the delivery would just provide unnecessary temptation.
DH and DS1 are off to the cinema later on Orange Wednesday to see the Transformers film.
I'll eat lots of lunch so that i don't need dinner....
Signed up for lunch time Pilates tomorrow.
Have a great day, lula x0 -
Another beautiful morning.....
Returned the item yesterday and that was the only shop that I went in to result.
Great result with the school - they listed and agreed with me and have made some changes, so I'm a happy Lula. Crisis averted.
Need to pop out soon so will return some of the things that have arrived.
No spends planned.0 -

Oh heck, sorry for that!!!! Please - just keep one of them and if possible return the other two!! You only need to have one!!!!!
Out of curiosity, which ones do you have?:rotfl:0 -
Well..... in between having the issue with the school and having the meeting with them this morning, I had arranged for us to go and visit a village school earlier today to have a look round.
Long story short, we liked what we saw (and heard) and it looks as though the boys will both have a new school in Sept. DS2 came with us as his teacher was striking today. He really liked it.
We will not say much to DS2 yet until everything is sorted. Initially, he really isn't going to be happy and I think we will have some tears. Ouch and Q the sad face.
Currently they're at a big primary with around 400 pupils - the new one is a small Village school with just over 90 children.
Popped in to town after the school visit - returned the jeans to TKMAxx and the lotions and potions to Boots. Didn't buy anything!!!!
MD order has arrived, need to arrange for the return.
hmmmmm...... I think i might need to look in the box first. My willpower is weakening.0 -
