Morning....
We've had a really horrible last week with some family things. Another one of those times when you realise life is too short and we really need to appreciate what we have an enjoy every minute.
I won't share details as it's all rather sad and I know that we all have awful things to deal with as and when they come along.......
On the bright side, the sun is shining and my little family here (DH and 2 X DS's) are happy and healthy, so I shall grab on to that and be thankful.
I've moved the OP's back on to the mortgage. I didn't really like having that money sitting in a savings account, it just didn't feel quite right. I filled up this years ISA allowance first and transferred the rest to the Mortgage.
I'm feeling happy and content to have such a lovely home and my desires for a larger more expensive house have fallen (again) by the wayside.
I do still think a couple of B2L's are essential, but I'm not feeling the rush to sort this currently. I might look back in anger and wish I'd done this sooner than later but ces la vie!
In the meantime, we will OP and save away as much as we can.
I'll try and set some short term goals soon.
Hope everyone is well, Lula xx0 -

Good luck with everything. When you see the right house you will know.
XPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Morning - hope everyone is well.... it looks like we have super sunny week ahead of of us, yay!
Right, time to focus again..... (where have I head that before? Oh yes, it's a constant theme throughout my diary!).
The OP's that we had from taking back to fund the new house have now been paid back to the existing mortgage. It was really nice to see that balance come down again.
The money shuffle was done a few days ago with an OP made to the mortgage and some popped in saves.
Quidco money received this morning of £58, this has been OP'd too.
Mucho spending has been done over the last month or so (as you'd expect from my spendy diary)....... We recklessly(?) decided that we would buy some bits and pieces since we had decided not to move (again).....
We bought:
American FF (I can try and do a justification list, but I guess it wouldn't wash)
Bedroom Furniture our room (we've lived here 8 years and never bought ourselves new furniture)
Accessories - lamps, mirrors, bedsheets etc
So, DH is ridiculously happy with his FF, I think he could happily live in it if needs must.
And, I'm ridiculously happy with our new Boudoir! I've never had a dressing table before or pretty furniture, I feel so grown up and also fairly girly. I really love it and am so happy!!
Summer School Holidays are fast approaching and since we don't have a holiday booked, we've been considering the things that we can do......
Nothing is booked yet, but on the cards is:
-Woburn - using Tesco club card vouchers
-Harry Potter Studios
-Thorpe Park for DS1 and either DH or myself... DS2 has no interest!
-Legoland Hotel for 1 night and park
-Seaside Day Trip
-2 nights close to my business partner - he has a fab big garden and they're within half an hour of the sea. The boys love spending time with them, we'll stay in a little hotel close by
-4 nights in Dorset - need to ring one of our hotel partners this morning to see what deal I can get
-Local Farm/play place for the day - DS2 loves it here, it's a cheap and fab day out
And, that's it. No 2 weeks in the sun, but it's a fair few things that we will enjoy, so, just need to start booking (and paying - eeeek) for everything now.

Just looking at my signature and realised that since joining MMW in Nov 2011, so 2 years and 7 months ago...... we have reduced our mortgage by £66k.
So, in theory, it should be possible to clear it all by our original MFW Goal Date of Dec 2016. That thought has actually perked me up a bit as I thought we'd totally lost all ability to do that.
Back then, it seemed like a crazy goal and also soooooooo far in the future. But now, I'm thinking that it's actually achievable and that it's not far in to the future after all.

So.... Legoland Hotel booked for 1 night with 2 days in the Park. I am really looking forward to it, it looks fantastic and the boys will love it. We're going a few days before DS2's 5th birthday.0

And back...... have been away with work for the last few days..... Looks like DH has been spend whilst I've been away. I'm not sure I will ever get him on board with spending less.
Best go and update my signature as this months mortgage payment is now showing.0 -
o/s has dropped from 68,604 to 67,246 - a reduction of £1,3580
