Well, the good news is that it looks feasible.
    Expecting some prices tomorrow evening.

Financially, I'm not sure what to do. Take back our overpayments and use them to pay for the loft conversion? Or, borrow some/all of the cost of the LC as additional borrowing on a new mortgage (same lender, runs alongside our current mortgage) and leave the OP's as they are (incase sh*t hits the fan when the business goes bust because I spent too much time working from the beach)........

    Decisions decisions.....

I made a comment earlier that I've worked from the beach. I'm feeling the need to explain/justify - a lot of my clients are in holiday destinations. So, if I go away on a trip - I tend to have back to back meetings but occasionally might have an hour to spare - this might be spent on the beach, at a bar, sunbathing by the pool etc etc - I always do this with my iPhone in hand and spend the time catching up on emails or returning calls that I may have missed during my meetings etc.

I don't literally have a portable office that I take to the beach with me :)
  • Hi Lula, I don't think you need to explain anything. We all lead different lives, and whilst our stresses may be different, our determination to be MF is what binds together. I have to admit to having a few calls whilst on the beach during my vacations, and if they can call me on holiday, then I can
b£gger off once my calls have finished in the afternoon and go to the beach :)

Hope the prices are ok from the builders

For what it's worth, I don't think you needed to explain either....however since you have I think it's cool that you get to work and travel. Sounds to me that you are making the most of things... and really that is all most us would do/want to do :T

    Thanks bookworm...

I don't take it for granted and appreciate that I am very lucky. I sometimes have to make sacrifices by being away from home, working weekends, late evening etc, but it's all give and take and gives me a good work life balance overall which is the main thing.

Anyway, it's all good. The sun was shining again today and its fantastic feeling that Spring is on its way. I can see the daffodils starting to poke through already....
  • Good luck with your prices Lula.

Think with all jobs theres pluses and minuses, you have to enjoy the positives when you can.

Anyway as Tilly says, we are all working hard on Op'ing, we all work hard and if you can sit on a beach and do work, then can I have a job? (only joking!!) ..... but if you ever need a nurse escort...?
