There's a certain subset of people who take pride in never having been in debt, or never having broken any laws. Both highly admirable traits, except that in the case of a PPC neither is true. But I've seen the wording on the back of some of these "tickets", deliberately designed to obfuscate and confuse, making vague mention of various laws and acts, and with the threat of court action or debt collection agents.
I can genuinely understand why some people get confused or scared, and why they'd seek repeated reassurance. I also understand that some cave in a pay. My wife's workplace issues "tickets" for the most minor event, like having a tyre touching a white line or forgetting to display a pass despite being a regular employee (Indeed I myself got ticketed for stopping to pick her up). Sadly despite her telling her co-workers about this forum, many of them still cough up as they want a quiet life. They're on decent money so the £60 isn't the end of the world, and they wrongly think they could be in trouble with their employer for not paying. It's easy money for the scammers, and it breaks my heart.0 -

I've lost count of the amount of times I've repeated and seen others repeat the same or very similar advice to people asking for advice on bailiffs and/or council tax debt enforcement on other parts of the site.
People keep asking because they are a) scared and b) worried that there is something unique about their situation that makes the normal advice invalid and leaves them in the muck. People want to believe us when we tell them that an apparently bad situation but its very easy to get frightened by an official looking bit of paper or an official sounding person on the doorstep or on the phone.
If that's getting you down - and I see why it might after a while, so I'm not knocking you - then try and develop a few templates to cut and paste things rather than repeating yourself by "longhand" so much and if that doesn't help then take a break. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
I have just fallen foul of the new NCP regime in Milton Keynes. I had not noticed that the John Lewis Car Park had been taken over by them. I did notice "new" style machines that wanted my reg tho. I noted that the parking charge was £1.20 per hour, I put £2 in and went off for about an hour n 20 mins. I came back to a fine. Apparently the NCP machines do not pro rata that time allowed against the sum paid. Nor do they give you change if you pay for more than an hour thus alerting you. Their warden who I saw walking away from my car said that he only noticed that I'd paid £2 after he had issued the ticket. He said that had he noticed then he would have allowed me extra time. I'm not sure I believe him. I wrote and stated my case that all other machines in MK allow the time you have paid for, but NCP are having none of it. I've seen the advise to ignore them in other cases. Am I likely to lose if I just let wait until the eventually issue proceedings?0

You are more likely to die of old age waiting.NCP do not issue proceedings, ignore them and after a few letters they will go away!

Ignore every piece of toilet paper they send you.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

Just another trick to deprive you of your money because these companies are too greedy to just accept the legitimate charge for parking.
The warden simply lied to you to avoid confrontation.
However, you can apply your own appeal, don't pay, don't contact, just ignore and they WILL go away.
This is a proven fact. I have had over 80 of these fake tickets and never paid a penny over several years.
So I speak from experience.0 -
just heard your appeal, took it to the highest level= decision=appeal rejected,,,there you go,, now moving on to the business at hand,,ignore everything, do not contact or reply to threat o grams, they will then eventually go away,,if you do contact, for any reason, they wil continue to hound you,, these are not tickets, merely an unenforceable invoice, not legally backed,so nothing can/will happen,,there you go jobs a good, feet up, chill, watch video of city beating united, glass of wine, and IGNORE 100% everything they threaten.0

NCP may be as morally bankrupt as any other PPC, but at least they admit that they make enough money from those victims who do just pay up, and that court proceedings, which they know they can't win, would be throwing good money after bad.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

That's the business model of all PPCs. The only way they make money is from the "parking charge notices" they con people into paying up. Without that money-stream they wouldn't make enough money to cover costs. This is because they usually don't charge landowners to "manage " the car-park, in fact they actually pay a bounty to self-ticketing landowners for every ticket they leave on a car.
Some PPCs do have P&D machines, but I doubt that brings in much money compared to that raked in by parking charge notices. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Closely followed by the 'I have read all the threads and stickies, but you see my car is blue, does that make a difference?' imbeciles.
Oh f*ck aye!
Also the "but my case is something a bit different" guys
And lastly the Blue Badge holders who have plainly not taken the five minutes needed to read the leaflet that comes with their badge which makes it plain in two places the scheme does not apply on private property.0
