Paypal access card - anyone getting one?

Paypal funds arent all completed in 10mins-2 hours, I'm still h aving to wait over 24 hours which is actually worse if I need the money in a hurry. Before with the £5 fee for the faster transfer I could withdraw money from Paypal to my bank account for example at 9pm and the cash would be in my bank account by 9am.

Since they removed the fast transfer option its taking over a full day to withdraw money. Yes its free, but I'd have paid £5 to have the money the next day rather than the day after tomorrow!

I saw a link for the Paypal Access card on my Paypal login page, when I clicked the 'Apply Now' button all it did was ask me to login again, I didnt get any application form to fill in, nor did it say when I'd get the card.

I used to have the Paypal Top Up card a few years ago and that was pretty much the same thing. Apparently if you're name isnt on the electoral register or you have a poor credit rating you will definetely have your application for a Paypal Access card declined.

I've been using it for a year. As soon I make a payment with it I get an email. A few months back a made a payment to monsoon and the day after they took another payment by mistake but I got an email and managed to get the money back straight away. Had the payment gone from my bank I wouldn't have known until I got my statement.

Plus it saves me having to sign into paypal and keep transfering money. Oh and I get $15 US dollars a month for being a part of a community.....I can spend that easily on my card. I've had no regrets with it.

There are no fees for transactions, it's a debit card so as long as you have the funds you can spend them. You do pay to withdraw cash at an ATM though.
I have turned off paper statements which cost £5 and there is no annual fee.

Can I ask how you turned off the paper statements? I can't see anywhere to do it? Thanks

I got my card about a year ago and I can't remember whether they were turned off by default or whether I phoned to ask them to do it... You can phone Paypal access card customer services on 0845 505 8801- they are very efficient!

can you use this card everywhere or is it only certain retailer that take it? Sounds like a great idea......

I have used it everywhere, including petrol stations. It's a mastercard

I got a free £10 for applying for, being accepted for and using mine. I get a free transfer to my bank account with paypal anyway but handy as i got rid of my credit card as they wouldn't let me use the PPi I'd been forced to have to pay when I lost my job for having cancer to pay my bills, especially closed it when they refused to investigate repeated fraud, so this card is handy for when it's a site that only accepts credit cards, and no debt too. Won't use it in an ATM due to the charge and swap it into the bank for that. I like it and the £10 reward was a lovely little treat! :beer:

just received my card yesterday even got my card with my balance being in negative.

i used this link

(add an extra W as im not aloud to put up links)

i logged into my paypal account and upgraded to a PREMIER account.

once i received my card activated it by using link
ww.paypal.co.uk/accesscard/activate and followed the instructions.

to double check its activated you can click on
PROFILE
MYMONEY
MY PRE-APPROVED PAYMENTS (update)
will show if its activated.

also at the bottom you can click on BACKUP FUNDING SOURCE
and setup you bank account or credit card so you can make payments with your access card without money in your paypal account.
