I see a lot of people have had their cards for months now. I noticed that for a paper statement it costs £5: I don't want paper statements, do they force you to have them? Or is it a service you have to request thus it costs £5. Many thanks in advance!0

Yes, never seen a need for a statement, every transaction goes through Paypal and more or less instantaneously you get an email telling you and it appears on Paypal page. I've never even thought about a statement until you mentioned it here!I see a lot of people have had their cards for months now. Also if you use the card to register for itunes for example, and they take a certain fee i.e. £1.58 to confirm identity and address, Pay Pal Access Card refund that money automatically, no need to chase them up. This also applies when you purchase anything via Tesco Direct.
When using my Access Card at the PO, very often l'm still at the counter when l get the email via my phone confirming payment.
I have only found 2 occasions where my Access Card was not accepted, this being at the Petrol Pump which takes cards, and to register as a payment method on my online credit card payment system.0 -
Having tried the link posted previously, it seemed to suggest that my application was a successful and even provided a date by which I should receive the card.
However, I've since received an email saying that they're unable to issue me with the access card at this time.
Has anyone else been rejected for the card? I can't even re-apply now, as they seem to have locked me out.
I was quite a large user of the previous card but did end up keeping quite a large chunk of their cash after they accidently credited my PayPal account twice after closing the old card down. I wouldn't have thought that would affect anything in today's computerised world, but perhaps it has!?0 -
Boo!
Same with me, said i was accepted, then got the email saying "No" :-(
Has anyone tried phoning paypal and asking for one?0 -
Actually, just gone to the link that was posted previously and clicked on "Account Manager", and it logs me in and even shows my card number etc and says "Issued" next to it!?
I'll wait a bit, and if a card still doesn't turn up, then there is an option there to pay £4.95 for them to send you a replacement for lost & damaged cards. I'll see if that works!
Did anyone else receive their cards in the end?0 -
