Although I didnt have the violence you have been subjected to, my ex kept taking me back to court. I know just how stressful it can be, and I also represented myself. However... by now the judge knows what he's like. He won't allow the barrister to bully you, as someone said, he's just being paid to do a job. The barrister my ex tried to get to represent him for the final hearing told him it was a waste of time, so I'm quite surprised that your ex has managed to get one to take on this no-hope case!

However, this will be the end of the road for him. Look beyond the day of the case, plan something fun for yourself and the family, and work towards that. You'll be fine... just remember that he's the loser!
  • One thing I will say is when you go into the room, try to not look small and sheepish. Go in with a big grin on your face to show this doesn't affect you. When he sees you like this he may think he's not "winning" and may just give up and leave you to live your life in peace.

Also can you not ask the judge to pass a motion that he's not allowed back in court for this case for like 5-10 years or something? That way you can get on with your life :)

    Good Luck.

  • If you have been moved for safety reasons I think you are being somewhat foolish in putting as many details about yourself, location, jobs, hobbies, family etc on this forum.
  • The other poster has some great advice get him stopped from taking you back to court, this guy is wasting vital resources in his vendetta. If anything he should be jailed for wasting court time.

If you don't think you can go on look back and see how far you've come

Is your ex getting legal aid?

If so, and you have evidence of his barrister lying in court (court record should support this) then report the barrister to the Legal Services Commission

    Code of conduct is here.

My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

  • Princess - I totally agree with you. It has been a total waste of taxpayers money.

Nene- I know about the application. Thing is I would have to pay for it and I would have to argue it in court why I want it.

Thanks RR. I have reported him to the Legal Services. I have also told the benefits people who pay his jobseekers so he is entitled to Legal Aid that he is working and they have been given witness statements and photographs of him working... all to no avail !!

  • Wow, what a lot you have been through, you must have spent a very long time being absolutely terrified. You have done brilliantly!!
I too was taken to court for access (no where near your circumstances though) he too was supposed to have indirect contact and never bothered but understand the fear of the judge's decision.

Anyone in their right mind can see what a danger this man is and would be beyond stupid to grant him person to person contact.

Just carry on being strong - you will get through this, hold your head up and shoulders back

I'm not sure if you know that someone who thought this ''rung a bell'' for them can search the forum for just your posts, and read a back history of what you post and glean any information about jobs/locations etc from a whole history of what you post. so, a refernece anywhere of a place, an identifyable feature, an initial in a post, or a job...for example, on your forum profile, would be accessable by anyone who wanted to do this. In a situation where you and your family might be in danger from someone who sounds fairly commmited to being a thorn in your side, a ruthless review might be advisable :)
