Old Style Daily Thread for Monday 7th November 2011
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 7th November This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all...
Little chilly here today. Kept the Log Burner in last night as I had a load of washing to dry so its not too bad inside today.
OS today.. got some bread to bake. Had Pheasant last night and have made some game stock to go in freezer.
Picked up new chest freezer on the weekend so that is filling up nicely too. I now have 3 freezers... an everyday one, a game one and a veg one :j
Im just off to go see how friendly they are on the relationship board and then I'll come back and plough through all the posts from the weekend as I havnt been on
Hugs to those who need it ...

Good Morning Farmer's Wife and All Who Follow x
I have been up a couple of hours but im not tired as I slept loads yesterday. I have pottered (or wobbled) around and have caught up on some jobs that I didn't do yesterday. Hopefully my cleaner will be coming today to finish off all the heavy work (fingers crossed).
I have a busy day and a busy week starting today. DD has the dentist:eek:, need to drop off my shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child whilst she is there and pop to the dreaded Tesc0 for some gluten free flour as Ds2 has to cook a dish for a special diet. We will then practice said dish after school. I also want to catch up on some of my baking, again stuff that I did not do yesterday.
Hope you all have a good dayx
Hugs for Bramble and Taplady xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning farmerswife and molly
Also been up a while, catching up on washing up, emptied bins, WM on, DS' lunch made, now time for a cuppa! Quite frosty and cold here, put CH on half an hour ago, so chill will go by the time the others are up.
DD started playschool last week, had to stay the first time, but leaving her today - I can shop BY MYSELF for a whole 2 hours - whoohoo! But also can't believe she's that old already
Going to make draught excluders today, buy runner for the hallway, finish sewing DSis' Christmas presents and do some baking as we've no biscuits etc.
Off to catch up on the weekend's threads - have a good Monday morning all, hugs and kisses if you need them.

Good morning everyone.
Haven't gone outside yet, so don't know what the weather is doing. From what i can see from the window, it doesn't look too good.
WM is on, again. DH is taking the dog for a walk so that saves me the job. Got to iron a couple of bits that i didn't do yesterday. Tonights tea is leftover chicken from yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all, can't believe theres so many up already!!! DS2 had wet bed last night so he joined me about 4am! Seems I was also joined in the night by the dog - I'd kicked him off the sofa when I went to bed, so .....
Today brings helping out at the school jumble sale, washing and perhaps soup for dinner. Then have a pile of ironing to do to keep me warm this evening. Frosty start out there so will need to find the deicer before school I think. Coffee down to the dregs, so I'd better get on.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all
Hugs to Tap & Bramble
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed, breakfast eaten, DW unloaded, WM empty.
I'm off to work soon & will drop off milk, bread etc to DD's, not for much longer though as SIL's pay should be sorted out this month.
We had a lovely weekend, I feel as though I've had a holiday, we went to watch some fire work displays from the top floor of a tower block & we stayed on the 12th floor of the same block in a serviced apartment. We left home at 10am & took a leisurely drive over & because we were out I didn't rush around trying to catch up with stuff at home, I went shopping, I bought de icer & an exfolliating glove, I spent ages admiring the view, we slept in a very comfortable bed, we had full satelite TV & didn't watch it, lol.
Back to reality, yesterday I did all the washing, some is still on the line, but I managed to get dry what we needed for today, tea tonight is ham egg & chips, I bought a piece of ham from Tesco on Friday for £3.99 & it is huge, it's been sliced & most of it is in the freezer.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Well yesterday went really well for my DH Confirmation. The Church was really accomodating for me (I needed my own chair as I faint sitting upright) and afterwards DH friend and DH cooked all the food we prepared over the last few weeks. The Cooked Lasagna may have come out of the oven slightly cold, but no one panicked and that's what the microwave is for! My HM Garlic Bagettes went down a storm!
I was very poorly yesterday though, and was upset about it as it was DH big day, but everyone really did help to make it a good day and it was so relaxed that I didn't do much at all. I bought DH friend some flowers to say thank you for helping in the kitchen so I could rest!
I am proud of myself, all the ingredients I needed to feed 18 people HM Lasagna, HM Garlic Bread and HM Cakes was £10.32! That includes some soft drinks... very OS i'd say
Today I need to just rest, but I have to get Gran to the Bus Station for 11am (DH put her suitcase in the car already on the backseat so all I have to do is push it out, so no lifting for either of us) and I have the afternoon school run, I will try and sleep this afternoon though.
Today I am 31 weeks, and I lost 1.5lbs
So I am now at my lightest weight of the pregnancy, and I really cannot eat anymore food, I am already struggling! I think I am going to have to be content with a growing baby and being skinny once it's born! I'm still gutted after trying so hard to gain weight!
Hope everyone has a great day xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Morning everyone
Cloudy, overcast, damp and the temperature has dropped here so chilly start this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Have been reasonably productive over the weekend - got quite a few jobs done. Cooked lovely piece of pork and all the trimmings yesterday so LO's sliced and in the fridge, that will form some part of tonight's dinner.
DS1 had a rugby match yesterday they took a bit of a hammering and lost - but they didn't train as much as most of the other teams so do their best - but most importantly they all enjoy their game.
Work will be the usual Monday madness - it's always busy on a Monday especially doing the job I've been given for today - at least it'll make the day go quicker.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.
